$125 each for tickets. $40 park entry ticket plus $85 for the fast pass. Crazy how much they charge. We'll have a good day there.

Man, I want to go there and King's Island so bad eventually. Gonna have to do a roller coaster vacation one day, fly in to the mainland, get an RV and drive to a bunch of parks. Straight up cousin Eddie style

Ya, it was steep, but I guess when you squeeze that many coasters in a small area you got to filter folks out.

I had an interesting little half day in Cleveland. Checked out the stadium and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, ate at Slyman's Deli, then went to the Christmas Story house

Just a heads up. IHG rolled out their new elite level, Spire Elite. If you qualify, you are eligible for a 25,000 point gift annually, and thankfully that starts with now. Between the wife and I, we just got another 50,000 points.

Just read up on it and the bonus points from signing up for the card work for most people (you need 75 nights or 75,000 points). I haven't gotten mine yet so I don't know for me but I just logged into my wife's account and sure enough she had Spire Elite. I went to "Choice Benefits" in her account and got her 25,000 points immediately!

Nice looking out Geaux

Ok, getting up there but lots of coasters...

WTF? You just paid $125 each. I can't stand how they do this at some places.

I'm sure it's worth it.

Yep. I will have to do my coaster trip when kids are still in school, I can't stand to only ride a great ride once but I don't want to sit in line for too long. Go during the weekday in April or May and I bet it's pretty sweet. Ride them 2-3 times each

Fun sharing for the day...
Chase United Explorer sent me club passes even though I cancelled the card a year ago. The moralist in me says I should email them to let them know that I should no longer be receiving these passes, but instead I'm hoping I receive these forever.

Damn shame domestic United clubs pretty much suck.

UC at ORD the only thing you get is a place to plug in, chex mix, and a comfier chair. Sure ain't worth paying for.

Yet, the UC at NRT has sushi, hot apps, free beer, booze, wine, sake, showers.

Looks like the only benefit of Spire over Platinum is the annual gift.

Yeah, it's pretty worthless unless you stay at IHG properties regularly. The 25k points is nice though, but you'll only get that year 1 of having the card. Basically makes the 80k point signup worth 105k if they continue to award the bonus for 75k points. I bought 65k points and have earned over 25k points this year at IHG properties for stays, but I didn't get the Spire invite, so I assume that buying points doesn't count.

I may not have been clear. It's $40 for the park entry pass and an additional $85 for the fast pass. $125 total.

Yeah, I bought 25k and right now it tells me I'm 74,000 away from Spire. I'm about to get 70k for my bonus, but obviously the bought points don't count. So I'll need to spend $4k on my card to get Spire even after getting the bonus. My wife got the 80k sign up so it was done for her already. Hopefully this stays around another few weeks or so.

Ahh, ok got it!

Went to a park in Sweden last year on a whim, we went to some island and rode some bad arse coasters actually. Anyway, they charged like $30 for park entry but then another $30 or $40 for the ride tickets (this was for like 10 rides or something) and they did have a fast pass charge too. But I didn't like how I had to pay to get in the park and that didn't come with any rides

The full spire benefits won't be announced/implemented until 1/1/16. This is just a welcoming gift for people who qualify

The benefits have been announced unless they're holding some back.

If you read all the blogs and reddit/flyer talk... Supposedly the special benefits won't be announced to 1st of year. Who knows...Right now it's same as platinum except 50% bonus and the one time gift.

Got it. Yeah I skimmed it so I missed that they were adding "special benefits".

Well hopefully it's worth a crap. Their top tier platinum status was just about worthless outside of earning points, and you don't really get substantial upgrades at Intercontinental unless you buy the Ambassador and that has more than paid for itself for me.

But, I really don't care if they bump me to the top floor of a Holiday Inn. It's the same room on floor 3 except I'm now on floor 5.

Damn, they operating that park like the greedy bastard I was on Rollercoaster Tycoon.

Getting bumped to a top floor is only good for talking shite to your friends when you're all part of a room block for a wedding. Of course, no one cares after about 30 seconds.

These sunofabishes! I just got my 70k bonus finally so I go to my IHG account and it still tells me I am 71k away from Spire Elite

I guess it worked for my wife because she had the points in her account already, but since I just go the bonus, they aren't counting them. Such bullshite. I have a little over 107k points and I'm only getting credit for about 4k that I spent on the cc. Basturds. Maybe if I email them they'll come around , I doubt it. This sucks.

IDK if anyone has talked about the Amazon Visa card offered by Chase, but I got one on Prime day...

They immediately gave me $80 toward Amazon purchases. I already had a chase account and it linked up to my current account automatically. It is a zero fee card that gets unlimited 3% cash back on Amazon and 2% back on gas... (1% on everything else)

I applied online (took 2 minutes) and had a card number and a $6,500 credit limit within 5 minutes. It was already programmed into my Amazon account and has been awesome. My other credit card was also thru Chase and I have had it for 7 years and still only had a $4,000 credit limit so it was really nice to add the $6500. I was shocked at how easy it was.

I will use it basically for Amazon, and gas when it is not the 5% cash back on my Chase Freedom card.
