Just got my renewal offer for my auto insurance with AAA. The 6 month premium went up from $680 to $780. I have 25/50 coverage with 1k deductible on my comprehensive & collision. it’s for a 2011 G37. Have never made a claim. No wrecks, no tickets for 7+ years. 800 credit score.

I’d love to get USAA auto insurance, but don’t have any military family to be eligible. Does anyone know of an insurer in the Metairie area that could go lower than this? AAA is now 30% higher than they were 18 months ago.

I’m just under 30 and pay 1100 for 6 months for a 2017 Honda Accord through Allstate. 25/50 with 1k deductible. I had several insurers quote me at over 500 bucks a month. When I shopped Auto Insurance last year, AAA was by far the cheapest, but then they found out at the last moment that I had another accident in the past 3 years. I had disclosed the accident prior to my quote, but they apparently didn’t take note of it.

Already had a quote with State Farm that was significantly higher than AAA.

1. Call a broker
2. Raise your limits
3. Have them shop for your auto insurance
4. Save you money
5. Leave them a good review as a reward

I have $1M/$1M and $300/$500 for UIM and $1K deductible.

I pay $963 with Geico and also under 30 in Orleans.

Clearly I like the piece of mind with more insurance but it’s really not that much more than just the basic insurance.

I have Progressive on all of my vehicles. My credit score is very high and they give me excellent rates for cars and bikes.

Yes.
Me. Hahaha.
I'm located in Gulf Shores, but still write back home in LA.

Or, you could google "insurance agency" Metairie, and go with the highest rated one via Google.

I have Geico and I am eligible for USAA. USAA does not come close to Geicos price for me.

I went with Met Life through Hebert Wiltz Insurance on Canal Street. I combined my auto with home and my bill was cut in half on both.

All insurers rate different for different drivers for different reason. Call a broker in your area and they can run you through a couple different companies

Why use a broker? It takes 10 minutes to get a quote online.

Go run quotes for Geico and Progressive as good starting points.

My list always includes:
Geico
Progressive
Allstate
State Farm
Amica
eSurance

I'd like to think that I bring value, but that's just me.

You would probably pay less and get more coverage if you lowered all limits to 300k and purchase a $1,000,000 excess policy.

Thanks I’ll look into that next go around. I have an umbrella of $750K on top of the Geico policy and my home owners. So I’ll have to talk to my home owners insurance agent about how to handle that.

What does that even mean? I’ll be quoted based on the state I am getting coverage, correct?

I struggle to see the value of a broker with how easy online quotes are these days. Insurance brokers seem like they are targeting an older generation that is less familiar with technology. What value exists with an insurance broker that I’m not seeing?

On more complex types of insurance, I can see the help of personal attention. Auto, renters, umbrella policies, for example, are straightforward and easy to compare across insurers.

He's stating that a good broker will have access to other markets that you can't get online, such as:
Safeco
National General
Hartford
Travelers
Etc...

I get your point, but I have had two different clients in the past 5 days state that they are happy to have me in the past week while we handle their claims. One had a car stolen and one had a home burn down (renters). Agents can show their value in these situations, but obviously I am of a VERY biased opinion.
