$800 annual fee is steep.

There are enough benefits to offset that, however you have to make sure to use them obviously.

As always see if the credits will cover it or more and if so, its a keeper card.
If you have to go out of your way to use enough credits to cover the annual fee, then not worth it probably
These are the credits/benefits, assign your own value to them:
- $300 Annual Travel Credit: Automatic statement credits for travel purchases (flights, hotels, parking, tolls, ride-sharing) charged to the card each account anniversary year.
- $300 DoorDash Credits: Through 12/31/2027, receive up to $25 monthly in promos ($5 monthly restaurant credit + two $10 monthly credits for groceries/retail).
- $300 StubHub/Viagogo Credit: Up to $300 annually ($150 twice a year) for tickets to events through 12/31/2027.
- $300 Sapphire Exclusive Tables Dining: Up to $300 annually ($150 twice a year) when dining at select restaurants booked via OpenTable.
- $288 Apple Services Credit: Up to $288 for Apple TV+ and Apple Music subscriptions (through 6/22/2027).
- $120 Lyft Credits: $10 in monthly statement credits for Lyft rides (through 9/30/2027).
- $120 Peloton Credit: Up to $120 statement credit on eligible Peloton memberships (through 12/31/2027).
- $500 Hotel Credit via "The Edit": Up to $500 annually for prepaid bookings made with The Edit ($250 per half-year).
- $120 Global Entry/TSA PreCheck: Statement credit every four years
- DoorDash DashPass: Free for 12 months (up to $120 value).
- Airport Lounge Access: Complimentary Priority Pass Select membership and access to Chase Sapphire Lounges

Personally I can easily find $900/yr of value from all that. $300 of travel credit for anything (no strings attached, very easy to use. $300 of restaurant credit, we go to a few restaurants on their list already around the ATL area. $300 in stubhub, we use it a few times a year for concert/sports tickets already. There's $900 right there already for me. I would assign no value to anything else up there as we either already have something covering that or dont use it. We dont have lounge access now and would definitely use that though, again since i dont use it now wouldnt assign a value to it. Same with AppleTV+ credit, would redeem it but assign no value to that since we dont have it now.
When you factor in 150k point SUB, thats worth AT LEAST $1,500 when redeemed for cash back; if you are a hunter for airline/hotel transfers, could be worth double that easily ($3,000 of value isnt out of the question there at all).

Eligible Chase Sapphire Reserve and JPMorgan Reserve cardmembers can receive $150 twice per year, up to $300 annually, in statement credits for dining at restaurants that are a part of the Sapphire Reserve Exclusive Tables program.
To qualify for the statement credit, cardmembers must pay with their eligible card at participating restaurants:
Up to $150 in statement credits from January 1 through June 30
Up to $150 in statement credits from July 1 through December 31
I wonder if applying for the card now - could someone get 3 of these $150 benefits and then cancel before they hit the anniversary date for the next $800 annual fee. Same goes for the hotel credit. If true, I bet someone could easily manipulate $2500+ of value out of this card in a year for the $800 fee.

I'm trying to get this one now. I bought 2 tickets to a Yankees game a week from now for $150 total and immediately re-listed them for $130 (I'd get $94 after fees). I don't live anywhere near NY but figured they would sell. Haven't sold yet.
I'd be up for creating a TD ponzi scheme where we all buy and sell each other's tickets to collect the stubhub credits

Glad Chase is feeling some pain for raising the fees.

I don’t mind putting a little effort in, but it’s really a pita. I don’t have any restaurants close to me nor hotels. So I gotta go out of my way to plan that.
Unless I’m getting 2 for 1 fairly easily, I’m not interested in spending $800 to save $200. It really isn’t worth the hassle

Mentioned in another thread but the preferred card is offering 75,000 points currently. It is $94/year fee. Obviously has less extra perks but pretty significant point total for a low fee card.

I need to check and see if my 5yrs is up since I last had the Reserve...
Looks like a good churn and burn card.

Just a note about this one; you no longer have to wait until the second half of the year, you can use two different bookings in the first month if you want to. Also, they have an additional $250 towards one of those bookings if you book it in an IHG as an example.
I've had this card since the beginning, but I'm not as happy with their refresh as I am with the AMEX Plat, even with the higher fee.
