I want to purchase some stock and I have never done this before. I have thought about it for awhile. Any tips would be appreciated. Amazon and net flix is the two I'm thinking about buying.

Download the Robinhood app. It’s super easy.

I just started as well.

Diversify. Watch your fees. ETFs and mutual funds are probably your best bets. Set it and forget it.

Buy companies that you do business with , that treat you well , and seem to do a good job.

Buy companies that are diversified . I am a fan of Ecolab. You name, they are in it . Hotels, restaurants, industrial water , refineries , oil and gas, wind , solar, pest control , life sciences , etc.

Eh, my $0.02. Good luck!

good luck. robinhood is a good place to start. I'd watch and research a lot before making thst first leap. pick a time horizon and investment strategy before you buy

I like buying individual stocks.

Just visit the different brokerage sites and pick the one you like. Most have educational tools you may find interesting and almost all of them will let you atumatically deposit funds on a monthly basis.

I agree with those suggesting the Robinhood app. 100% free trades. The only drawback I’ve found with it is that many stocks, mainly OTC’s aren’t available.

I’m a newb, too, so I wouldn’t be qualified to give you much advice. I was sure to do thorough research before buying. Look at multiple sources on any stock you’re considering before pulling the trigger.

I know buying individual stocks is much more fun, but for someone just starting out, I’d recommend some well balanced mutual funds/ETFs. It’s much easier to lose money on one or two stocks, trust me I have learned the hard way.

Oh, I’ve been in mutual funds for over twenty years, and I agree with your assessment. I’m not throwing big money at anything right now, just feeling my way.

No reason to be trading OTC stocks ever, much less starting out, trust me I learned the hard way back in college. So maybe he should look at Robinhood

Or, you know, have some higher risk stuff and some lower risk stuff.

Your reply doesn't really address his post.
He's right, Robinhood has all the stocks that a newbie would need and it's free.

It's possible to have higher risk stuff that isn't OTC, just saying.
