I would think that it the US government decided that it wanted to squash Bitcoin, it could put a big hit in the process. Maybe not go to zero but it’d hurt.

Agreed, but that ship is long sailed at this point. They are committed now with ETFs, banks custody, power infrastructure reliant on BTC, etc

The measure of hard money is how well it absorbs capital and stores purchasing power. The entire point is that bitcoin claims to be superior base money.

If the government sees it as a threat to its own currency, they could make it illegal as tender. That won’t stop people from using it or impact the trading of it on the varied exchanges.

It’s not likely to become a threat to the USD anytime soon.

Heck, as it stands now, most traders don’t use it as a currency now.

They don’t even need to go to that extent. If people were unhappy about civil forfeitures, just wait for what’s on deck when your net worth fits on a flash drive.

There are two certainties in life. Taxes, and when a federal agent seizes any of your electronic devices kiss the data goodbye.

You do know that bitcoin isn’t actually stored on the electronic device correct? Surely you knew that considering you speak on Bitcoin and its merits in all the threads.

They can have my electronic device. I’ll just fly to another country with my 12 words and have all my net worth safe and sound.

I guess you got me. All these people losing their coins because they can’t recall 12 simple words in their head. It’s almost ethereal at this point.

To be clear about something you seem to be struggling with, it breaks no laws and is not immoral to not rely on your memory to recall those 12 simple words.

It’s poor coin management not having their words secured anywhere. So yea if you are relying on that device without a secured way to access the recovery phrase then sure you are SOL. Someone having their net worth on a device without a backup plan is remedial level dumb

The ignorance in this thread is only proof that there is a lot more upside to bitcoin.

Considering it would take a supercomputer over a billion years to brut force 1 address, I think most people are good.

…Or one guy willing to cut off each of your toes off until you give him your 12 words that free’d you from the monetary system.

I’m not even sure why these threads always get confrontational. We’re six pages in, and every post has been overwhelmingly positive about the BTC hustle. The only argument is whether the hustlers really believe what they’re selling.

I tip my hat to the bankers who created a MLM for hipsters to targets cultists. It was obviously brilliant marketing.

Now you’re trolling.

MTG’s Black Lotus is the best performing asset of my lifetime, and Charizard is the best moneymaker for youngbloods that follow.
