I have made the committment to purchasing a Rolex. I made the decision last year. I also feel confident it is an asset and will not lose money. Money isn't an issue to purchase it, but what would you recommend as the best route? I don't just have $40k sitting freely. I always invest to the fullest and pay off everything monthly.

They can offer 12 months interest free. I think this is by far best option. In house. This just stretches me a little too much to maintain my monthly balance as a full $3,500/month payment would have me maxed out to the fullest.

I am good on assets, but don't want to sell anything or pull anything out of my portfolio. Just curious if there was a better option for me.

Do you plan to never take it out of the box and wear it? If so, perhaps an asset. There is a chance it could not appreciate in value at all.

You don't $40k sitting freely, but you'd be financing 12 months at $3500 which comes to $42k.. so is it really interest free? Or are you paying more to finance.

Why are you trying to access $30k in your title post, but then saying the watch is costing $42k.

If you're trying to park $40k, buy a house, or another house and rent it our for three - five years then sell it, and youll have plenty of $$ to buy your precious time piece.

I don’t think you can afford a $30K watch.

I plan to wear it. I plan to enjoy it.

I may have worded my OP poorly. I mean, I don't have immediate access to making the full purchase immediately. My net income monthly is $3,500 - as in after I pay everything off in a normal month. So, if I chose the finance 12 months no interest that is where that number came from. I said $30k because I do have $15k liquid in my checking if I had to use it.

I have three rentals paid off, but I am not going to just up and sell them for this. I am going to buy this piece, but just trying to do so as easily as possible.

I don't believe you. If this was true, you wouldn't be asking.

Agreed. If the dude is this worried about how to pay for a 40k watch then he can’t afford it. If you don’t have 40k just sitting around anywhere you shouldn’t do this.

Eta. You have three PAID OFF rentals, and can only scrounge together 15k if you HAD TO? Lol. Why not save the money over the next 12 months?

You can’t afford the Watch. I’m not sure what you want us to say? Why not buy a $10k watch or $20k? Going full on $40k in your situation is rather absurd.

Interest rates are not low, it’s not going to be cheap to finance and yes buying at 0% has some financing costs already built in.

ETA: fwiw something like a heloc is usually the lowest interest rates as you are placing equity down to guarantee the loan.

I’m going to give you the benefit of the doubt and assume that this is just a weak effort at trolling us.

You can get a Rolex without paying 30k-40k for one.

Man, the wait list is unpredictable. They have the exact model I was looking at in the spring. When they're in, they're in. It's not like I chose the rep to call me yesterday.

And yes, I have $15k sitting in a checking account. I put every dime in my stocks monthly and have for ten years, so I don't have to be downvoted for being in a position where I am asking the most logical way to secure the money, not that I cannot afford it.

Borrow money against one of your paid off rentals.

Sure, then save the money and put it in a money market or low risk fund until you have enough and then buy. Outside of that, do as you wish. There’s not going to be a great way though.

If you want it so badly, then sell some investments in your taxable brokerage.

If you have to finance a watch, even interest free, you should find a different watch to buy.

Which model are you looking at?

If you’re spending 30k it is almost certainly a gold watch and those do not maintain value as well as the steel sport models which are also much cheaper.
