Start at Perkins Extension and Highland Road intersection and head towards Seigan, Bluebonnet, Staring, etc. You can find a neighborhood all the way along Highland or between Highland and Perkins all the way to College Drive.
Literally anything in this area is where I would recommend. Stay away from the Gardere area.
It is easy to find a home in BR.

Didnt realize that, I was in and out of town so much last year I did not keep up as much as I wanted to.

Really depends on where you plan on working, and how important entertainment is to you.
I'd honestly look at something in the old Goodwood area, Claycut, and parts of Zeeland Gardens.

The Library Board has given Spinosa 9 months to complete a set of infrastructure requirements. Here is the article
You'll note in the article where one board member's biggest concern is what happens if Spinosa's Rouzan development company goes "belly up."
I personally don't think Rouzan will ever be developed by Spinosa. I believe he will be forced into personal bankruptcy and he will be forced to liquidate his real estate holdings by the bankruptcy judge.
Rouzan, or something akin to Rouzan, will probably eventually be developed on that beautiful tract of land, but it will be done by someone other than Spinosa. And it will take years to happen.

They've already sold houses in there. Are you talking about the "village" part?

Do you have a real estate agent yet? My buddy knows the area really well and he is a buyer's agent, I can send you his contact info if you'd like

You really don't know jack-shite! Have you been out there lately?? Quit acting like you're all knowing - to me, it makes you sound stupid!!

Also check out for sale by owner. If you find a home on this site you don't need a realtor. Just decide on your Mortgage company and they will handle everything and you will save $$$ in realtor commissions.
Hi-jack question. I have been working with a buyer's agent for about a month now looking at homes. He has invested several hours and days helping me and showing me houses. I recently found a house on the FSBO website that I like. What is the general protocol here? I haven't paid him a dime (seller is supposed to pay his fees) and would feel terrible just dropping him after the time he has invested in me. First time home buyer and just not sure what to do here. TIA.

I second this. Tara has a very active homeowner's association to protect the property values and it is a very quiet neighborhood. You can be on I-12 or I-10 within 7 minutes and in downtown or on the LSU campus in 15 minutes.
I know someone who lives in Tara and loves it.
I live in Goodwood Villa which is next to Tara off LaSalle absolutely love living here, I feel like I can get anywhere in the city within 15 minutes, tons of restaurants and grocery stories in the area.

I'd look in the Oak Hills area. You can't go wrong in there and you will sell your home in no time when you decide to move. Houses typically do t sit very long in that neighborhood.

You can find some deals in Bayou Terrace, River Highlands, or Waterfront East right now in that price range.
Badace in the summer, too. Pharmacy, multiple very good eating options, full-sized grocery w/deli/butcher/vino/booze selection that's legit, and all the fun you could handle out of your backdoor within a five minute's drive. Hospital & places of worship easily accessible and <10 minutes away.
Waterfront living is where its at, homey.
Been down here 12 years, and on our second home. We love it but not for everyone and not for people that have to commute to downtown and hate a drive. The plus side is you are only 50 minutes from the quarter...

My friends recently bought a house in University Gardens and like it a lot.

In case y'all can't tell, this is a two month old thread that got bumped by someone who is obviously very partial to Spinoza and rouzan. In fact, he probably found it by searching on google if I had to guess.
I got déjà vu reading this until I saw it was old
