Any idea who offers the best rates in the BR area? Current vehicle is a convert sports car that Im paying 90 a month for for full coverage. (Its paid for) through State Farm. Insurance quotes Im seeing for a new Tundra is running ~160 a month. WTF? I have never filed a claim in my life. Had 2 tickets in my life (last one over 10 years ago) and Im a homeowner and over 30.

Is there any bigger ripoff out there? I pay 60 a month for health insurance..

Just be glad you aren't 20.

My insurance on my pickup was 300 dollars a month. Never been in a wreck, never had a ticket, and I've been with the company since I was 16.

I shopped it around, that was the going rate. My truck was brand new, but it was pretty basic. I think I paid 22k for it.

It's eased off as I have aged, but I'm still at about 230 a month.

I pay $180/mo. for mine but I'm under 25.

No wrecks or tickets.

Ok let me rephrase now.. Online auto quotes REALLY suck.. Agent prices suck but not as bad.

Agent I have my house through gave me a quote of 142 and when Im married next month that would go down to 122. Plus I save another 10 per month on homeowners. 112 a month isnt bad.

I dealt with Louisiana people all the time when selling insurance. LA was one of the highest states as far as rates. It's awful.

Would you say that there is a correlation with how shitty a state's roads are and how high premiums are?

I know a lot of people who were in accidents that were either caused by or catalyzed by shitty road conditions.

Actually, the crime rate and the fraud that takes place. That's how it was explained to us. Certain parts of course are better for rates. I just know that when people moved OUT of LA and into another state, they were HAPPY about the drop in rates!

That makes even more sense.

The sad thing is that the high rates actually drive the accounts of fraud up because when people get the opportunity, they sue the insurance companies nuts off.

It's a never ending cycle.

Wow, I have 50/100/50 and it's only $85 a month for my truck with State Farm. I'm 24 and a perfect record

I assume this is through work? That is not the real price. Try getting if for that price on your own. I drive a 2003 truck and I pay 40 a month through State Farm

State farm was my insurance before I totaled out the 3 vehicles. My insurance ran >$80 a month for full coverage before hand.

State farm gave me the boot.

I am with America First, part of the Liberty Mutual group.

For my wife and me, we pay $129.75 per month, full coverage (100/300/100 UMI), with $1K deductibles.

It's the best I could find. I deal with someone local at Arthur J. Gallagher. If you're interested in getting her name, let me know.

If I had to do it all over again, I'd rather pay a higher monthly auto insurance premium.
