A buddy of mine told me to take the profit. I just believe this is going places so I ignored. May get it handed to me but I'm LONG!

Yeah I saw a $25.00 in after hours but AH doesn't count for ATH.

more bullish options buying today

JMO I would not sell in the near future unless some negative news hit. The market is positioned bullish on this one. Volume could leave in a couple weeks or month and this go stale, but I would hold for now. Possible buyout also with all of the M&A going on in biotech right now

I am very ignorant when it comes to buying individual stocks and took a leap of faith after reading some of this thread. Excuse the ignorance but how do you get some of these shares at $15. I currently have 66 shares invested at around $6.50/ea.

Unless you are connected to the broker house or offering group, in this case Jefferies LLC and SVB Leerink LLC, and the other smaller firms, you can't. The reason being, these firms have a book of clients with millions in liquid cash for an immediate investment. They target these people and put a short sale job on them to get them interested via a prospectus, etc. That is why they are able to complete these offerings in a very short period of time because of its closed door/limited entry nature.

I worked for a firm that handled a few of these kinds of offerings.

At the pace this is running, and my now new position with SRNE, good sir, I owe you a steak and bourbon dinner.

Curious, considering the momentum and outlook of AUPH as a whole, have you increased your position? After P3 announcement I picked up a few shares after it tumbled and rebounded on its way up from low/mid $14s.

I put an order in at 16.29 this morning and it never fell to it. I don't think it would hurt to chase, but I'm not going to do so today.

Disclosure: I added 72 more shares in my Roth at 17.76 after it hit 18.49

I think 17.43 was the bottom.

Still sitting on about 5,500 shares. Took some profit. Talk to me about SRNE. What’s the deal here?

Every day for the last week I hate myself for selling some of my AUPH shares a while back.

So, yes, what is this srne all about?

I'd be careful there. 88 has been great at bringing stocks but I imagine hed tell you to do your own research and be sure you know the play on your own.

It maybe great but everyone hoping on here cause auph was good maybe way disappointed.

auph has a better people story in addition to good quantitative value. I havent seen that out of srne yet.

No doubt. Regarding SRNE I was merely alerted to it because I saw news that they turned down a $5 buyout while they were a sub $2 stock, and that made me

As for further research, I haven't done enough. They do have price targets around $25, which is pretty incredible, but

From what I've seen, the main concern in pharmaceuticals is management. Nothing is more valuable. For three years Aurinia's team has delivered successful results on time. They've never been flashy, and never tried to pump the price. They just do the work.

I just can't say that about SRNE or ARDX because I haven't followed them long enough.

Management is the first thing I look at now after being burned by ADMP and a couple of others. Doesn’t matter how good of a product you have if the management is shady or lazy.

ETA: put some money down for PTI this morning.

Two Top Biotech Buyout Candidates

quote:

On Dec. 4, Aurinia reported positive late-stage results for its lupus nephritis medication voclosporin, causing its shares to jump by an eye-popping 125% in a single day. However, Wall Street clearly didn't have high expectations for voclosporin's lupus nephritis trial leading into this top-line data readout. As proof, the biotech's shares were down by a noteworthy 27% for the year just one month prior to this all-important data reveal.

The big deal is that this single indication could be worth upwards of $1 billion in annual sales at peak, according to some analysts. Moreover, voclosporin should enjoy a virtual monopoly for lupus nephritis for perhaps several years -- that is, assuming the FDA ultimately green-lights the drug for this indication. That's the kind of commercial opportunity that tends to attract big pharma suitors.

What's next? Aurinia plans to file for the drug's approval with the FDA sometime in the first half of next year. Before this regulatory filing ever sees the light of day, however, Aurinia could fetch a sizable takeover offer. The long and short of it is that the biotech now sports a well-differentiated product candidate with strong late-stage data. So, if management chooses to go the buyout route, there should be ample interest from big pharma.
