Art Rodriguez has a Message for Americans

“Stop investing in Roth IRA. If you want to put the money aside, implement a principle in which you can maintain a reasonable amount of stocks before the market shuts down for the third quarter.”
Personally, I think his argument makes zero sense, but the point he makes is definitely something to consider. Unfortunately, I could not link the article for some reason but it was a great read if anyone else comes across it.

Sorry, but I think its pretty clear

No, it's not.
What does "market shutting down for the third quarter" mean? Why would anyone change their retirement strategy based on something that might happen in the short term? Who the frick is Art Rodriguez? Why don't you know how to link an article?
So many questions.

It's scary to think that in today's America we are still so uneducated

Well I mean I don't own one anyway, but let's not get off topic.

I love how this still hasn’t been explained or cleared up lol

The OP is trolling. He couldn't link the article for some reason, but he has no problem linking here or here, for example. He mysteriously doesn't say where he read the article, mainly because it doesn't exist according to Google. And just to be sure, here's another attempt to find the article in case OP misspelled the person's name. The only results are this thread, which means OP made up the quote.
Kick rocks, OP.

You must not be familiar with Gale Databases then? I only use information from trusted sources. Would have easily been able to link an article from Google.

what does a database have to do with the source being trusted? also, why would you start a thread discussing an article apparently available on some proprietary, pay subscription service that nobody else on the board has ever discussed using, without a sensible portion of the article copied? the short blurb you cited makes absolutely no sense without more context. idiot

I was able to find the article once again. Here are some quotes I pulled, hopefully this will clear some things up.
quote:
Investors around the country are in an outrage after stock market analyst Art Rodriguez made comments hinting at the stock value decreasing by 0.35% at the end of the third quarter this year.
quote:
“Listen, I’m not going to sit here and sugar coat the fact that proprietary investments around the country have been on the decline since the mid-80s. This, as we all know, has affected the overturn in stock value, which, hitherto, affects the retirement plans of many older individuals,” Rodriguez said at a convention in Portland, Oregon last month.
quote:
“I have one message for all Americans in this particular case. Stop investing in Roth IRA. If you want to put the money aside, implement a principle in which you can maintain a reasonable amount of stocks before the market shuts down for the third quarter.”

0.35%? One third of one percent?

Now I trust Art...

You definitely click on clickbait article links and forward chain emails.

I am not familiar with Gale Databases, but that is irrelevant. Your "quotes" are nowhere to be found on the internet except this thread and, supposedly, buried in a database with a paywall. Are you seriously telling me that Bloomberg, the Wall Street Journal, CNBC, Market Watch, and so many other news, opinion, and analysis sources failed to pick up this guy's message for all Americans, but your paywall database did?
I don't buy that for a second, especially when this unknown guy's quotes supposedly came from an unnamed convention in Portland at an unknown date.
