I predict a fall in the next few weeks, then I'll buy back in. (I bet under 400).

It’s weird how you see so many people think differently.

My strategy is to buy as many shares of Apple as I possibly can prior to August 24th.

short term traders make their wins on frequent profit taking over a large range of positions. Nothing is foolproof and profit is profit.

I agree that a buy/hold policy is best with a comparatively low cost basis but if you are in near the high, it’s probably at least an even odds decision

What does that accomplish?

It accumulates more shares for me, then a split on the 24th. What’s the point of your question?

I’ve stated my opinion on our Discord chat. My belief is that Robinhooders and new retail traders will drive the price up quickly once it splits.

My theory is, once it splits those share prices will not be that low ever again. By accumulating more shares of Apple prior to the split, it helps my position and entry cost long term. Apple will likely split again(probably multiple times)over the next 20 years, which is how long I plan to hold.

This is my hope as well. Going to buy more Apple and Roku Monday.

I bought my first $5k worth of AAPL in 2009 for about $110 a share. I watched it go way up and sold some in the $300's because I needed money at the time. Regretted it and bought back in soon after in the higher $300's. Continued buying even when it was $700+. Watched it crash all the way down to the $300's again and finally it seemed I learned my lesson. I didn't panic, I bought more. Have continued to do that through the years, as recently as March. I have about 700 shares now and haven't sold again since that very first time. There's certainly been some scary times, but I held and as of Fri I am up 546%

I will buy more AAPL, so you should too.

Yea I'm buying. I agree itll have a run up before the split and then again after... but I'm a short. After the split and a hopefully decent run, I'll be moving out into something else.

But I dont have the luxury of time with these funds.

I want to get in on Apple. Dont have too much money right now to throw at it so I was thinking of selling my mgm and jpm shares.

Anyone high on Bank stocks right now or do yall think thats the right play?

Mgm I dont see rebounding for awhile and even then I don't think their ceiling is remotely close to apples (obviously).

I could sell my TSCO shares, but thats a great company with a nice dividend and my shares have been good to me (got in at $101 and its at $142 right now).

Fair enough. You think Robin Hooders will drive the price up after the split. I can see that. I wasn’t being aggressive, just wondering.

I think you are right on the MGM shares. It’s going to be a while before tourism recovers.

Was nervous in March and sold profits, been picking up shares since, this guy n3ver goes down and when it does I’m now buying more every 2-3% drop.

Apple is the market, was dumb to sell before. Won’t again till I’m 60

Curious to know if you are satisfied with your overall investment? Have you held your original position over the last six years? You've seen a healthy ROI but majority, if not all, was realized in the 12 months given the rebound since May 2019. The growth from 2015-2017 was a marginal %. 17-Q3 2018 was strong but at EOY 2018 you were back to about a 50% ROI over 4 years. 2019 to date, its been on a tear, outside of the March fall out, but you're on track to see 300+% ROI over 6 years. Annualized not bad but again, majority of that was in the last 12-18 months. So, what are your thoughts on the split and go forward? I own 0 shares of Apple and just looking for perspective of long shareholder

I bought a couple hundred shares right after the split in 2014. Best investment I have ever made. I will hold through this split, expecting to be up a little over 500% after it settles back with new retail investors getting in

ETA: I am not sure when I will sell it, I don't see it going anywhere
