Anyone thinking of exiting the market for a few months?
Posted by MrLSU on 8/26/22 at 12:19 pm

I’m seriously thinking about pulling my money out and parking it into mmf because we are very likely to see to massive downturn in the market that rivals 2008.
The foreclosure numbers are really moving into historic ranges once again too.

The obvious answer is no and my advice is don't do it.
But based on your post, I'm sure you will time the market perfectly.

We’re not even close to 2019 foreclosure levels yet. Lol

My experience with this - I called the top in early 2020. Went 100% cash. Made a big post about it here. Didn’t buy back in in time and basically broke even, ending up where I would have been if I had just stayed invested. Not advice, just saying it may not work out like you think it will.

I’ve been in all cash since 2009 waiting for the bottom.

There will continue to be a nice cash bid in the housing market due to inflation / possible hyperinflation.
This is NOT 2008 deflationary style collapse

Weak hands. Don't let these bears scare you. Just have some cash on the sidelines and buy some great stocks when they down like 15 or 20 bucks a share. I've bought a few today and if they drop 15 or 20 next week will buy then. Got a couple stocks i want but hoping they drop a little lower,BLK, so i can pull the trigger. Days like today help

I've been sitting at 20% cash since January. I'll just wait until we head back down closer to those June lows if we ever get there and start buying. If not, I'll average up. Only thing I'm down big on is my Disney position right now

CNBC Guest Nails It
I don't know what's coming, but I know it isn't good. The Federal Reserve has been artificially inflating the market since 2008. That, coupled with poor fiscal policy, has us in a really bad spot that I'm not sure they can manage.
I'll never understand why the naysayers get downvoted on this board as much as they do? It's just a differing opinion.

We must all think alike. Clearly you are an idiot if you don’t have the same opinion as me.
