To get out of the American rat race. Whwre to? There's many countries where you can live like a king on $3,000/month and have a much higher quality of life.

Marbella Spain

Lots of people from United States, UK, South Africa, and Australia have retired there.

Check out Bali. Insanely beautifully with an insanely low cost of living. Lots of Australians there permanently. That is, if you’re comfortable living on an island with an active volcano

We had a thread on this a while back. My choices are Belize City, Todos Santos, or Puerto Morelos

I can't find it. There is a Gump on here that lives in Columbia. Good read.

I love the idea of this, but then I remember I have kids and don’t want to be away from them and my future grandkids

Why not live somewhere close enough where flights aren't bad? FL to Colombia is two hours.

Cost aside, Italy would be a dream. I love the language, culture, food, and wine. Beautiful place with a pace of life that it wonderful (especially in the smaller towns).

How much each month do you need to live like a king in Medellin? I hear the women are very hot there too
