I'm guessing to maximize profits, you have to clear out a certain percentage of quarters per night manually? Looks like a lot of work.

I had buddies who had over 300 in the Houston, Waco, Austin, San Antonio area. They were clearing sometimes $30K a week, but losing about five machines a week to the Texas Lottery Authorities and the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission. They still have some machines, but it wasn't just sit back and make money. They had routes that had to be done daily and the machines crap out and have to repaired. They made a ton of money--you'd go over to their house and bags of quarters every where--huge cloth bags full of quarters.

F$%k that. Not worth the effort or expense. Not to mention when some Trayvon bust it open and steals all the money inside while destroying your machine.

why is this the top reason to not do something? its ridiculous. many people cant think at all much less think of a great money making idea.

Not to mention most people are too lazy and/or scared to do the simplest of things, especially if it's out of the ordinary.

It's always "oh, its already been done" or "it's not as easy as it sounds".

Well guess what, most successful people weren't the first ones to do what they do.

I think its what separates average 9 to 5'ers from true entrepreneurs.

And Dollar General is going to allow you to put a machine in their store that will take away money from their customers and into your pocket

you dumbass, you think i was talking about putting them in DG?? My point was if you can make a product that can make money in a small town it's easy and efficient to expand b/c there's a 100's of small towns.

quote:

You can make money doing this but it is TOUGH to get into stores and expensive to operate.

link? how tough can it be to go to a mom and pop and say "hey i got this machine i'll give you a cut if you let me sit it in your laundry mat/gas station/whatever?

quote:

Also, once a location proves that it makes money, you have to convince the store owner not to kick you out and buy their own machines.

maybe have them sign some kind of little 2 year contract? just to have something on paper even if its worthless?

And you honestly think no one else would have thought of this first and already be doing it if it was so easy to do?

why i'm discussing dumbass, i'm not just gonna dismiss an opportunity, till i pull the string to see whats at the end.

you got that right!! but gettin money is habit

I had dinner with my buddy and this is how he laid it outlike this, his family owns a string of kinda janky gas stations and he said they put a couple in b/c somebody told them to and it was like free money, the quarters go to a container at the bottom of the machine and about once a week somebody dumps it, you don't restock it b/c you leave the quarters on the top. he didn't say anything about maintenance, it was just a discussion about his latest way to make a little change. the machines are only a couple grand so in a few months the pay themselves off and you just collect what you collect.

pay them no mind, there's a lot of broke dicks around here.

yeah it sounds too easy, but idk may try it, i mean it's not gonna be a main business or anything, just something for fun , i'm gonna call him today and see what else is involved as far as getting a gaming stamp and if they break down and that sort of thing.

That's key. He's not having to give anyone a cut. Your profit margin won't be as high as his. Just keep that in mind. And most people lie at least a little about what they make.
