Congrats! What will you do with all your free time?

And... I think pretty much every CPA firm with 10 or more people in South Louisiana is hiring.

I am giving myself a year to six months for some philosophical reading, and then looking to get my notary public, and certified fraud examiner.

As far as BR forms hiring, here's hoping Denver or Seattle firms are too

I’ve found the New Orleans finance & accounting job market is insanely weak unless you want to do very traditional accounting.

I’m just starting to study for my first section. Pretty pissed they have score holds for every window.

I had to wait almost 5 months for my REG score.

Pretty much all of Louisiana. It’s frustrating, no doubt.

I'm walking out of right now from taking Audit. We'll see. I felt good about most of the multiple choice, but you never know. I pity the poor souls that have to do that shite for a living.

How were the audit sims? Audit is my first section and I’m little uneasy about that part.

I can see that, that's why i said firms =)

But we don't have a lot of big industry jobs here, and probably even less specialized consulting. Everyone is headed out of state for the sexy non-traditional jobs. Meanwhile, the bread and butter tax and audit jobs have openings.

Yeah, it’s tough.

Ignoring the depressed career earnings aspect of working in accounting + finance in New Orleans, the market is pretty much completely devoid of interesting finance roles.

Mine was all conceptual with the exception of one that was just forecasting which was easy. I've found if you just study nothing really surprises you. What are you using to study?

I believe my firm is hiring in Denver if you're interested in A&A.

No CPA here, but I did pass the CIPP/US this morning.

If you just do it you should be fine.

I've made an 85 and 89 and feel decent about audit using Becker.

That's not to brag, but I just do all the lectures all questions and have had good results.

I’ve been studying before and after work, but haven’t felt very efficient.

Working 50-60 hour weeks and cramming study time has proven to be difficult. I’ve been doing MCQs, but I worry about how I get the knowledge for the sim, because context of the Q&A typically helps me find the right answers on the MCQs

I've been doing the same. If you are doing well you'll be fine. What I do is do the progress tests for MCQ's 10-15 at a time that way you can answer a few then review the answers and do the practice tests. There's really only so much you can do as far as Sims, but if you know the materials they won't be bad.
