Just my rules:

1- separate investment and trading.

- My investments are long term and dividends. Things like AAPL... or CLM (yep I still have it and get that monthly divi!)

- My trading is selling calls or puts on stocks that I expect to have to sell or to buy(puts). These are generally stocks I don't mind holding. Examples here.. Today I purchased AAL 20 cents below the $17.5 strike. I immediately sold calls on the $17.50 for $35 each. I did this on several stocks.

2- Do not over look passive incomes of any kind. For me, I own or invest into several companies that require little to none of my time. One example is mining crypto. It takes little of my time. But every day I make money!

I really enjoy the things I do. It makes a huge difference!

As I posted earlier just because they are family doesn’t mean you can trust them with your money.

A ~55y/o financially-set Radiologist, was convinced to invest heavily with a builder and developer in a "can't miss" new shopping center. He was going to double his money ... guaranteed!

The three of them supposedly shared equally in risk and profit. But the project went south. Both the builder and developer walked away.

The Radiologist was left holding the bag, and worked into his late 70's to maintain solvency. He died just after his 80th b'day. Sad and stupid.

Yep. Many lessons were afforded in that for a younger me.

Namely if the "investment" isn't publicly traded and/or in your personal wheelhouse, WATCH TF OUT! Especially if you are concomitantly working 70-80+hrs/wk at your ""real"" job.

GameCoin investors got wealthy for a second but are now broke. The lesson - don’t invest in scams promoted by sport radio hacks and guys who cut grass.

Exactly. That's what jogged my memory about the Knight situation. It's crazy to think a brother would do that to another.
