Same here. Always have been. Always will be. But if it was easy, even the weak spirits among us could do it. And as you suggested, if they’re that scared… there’s planes and trains leaving every single day!

My grandfather was a serial entrepreneur. He built up one of his first businesses in the midst of the Great Depression. When I was going through a rough patch in the early 90s with my real estate business, he laid this on me: The same heat that tempers steel, melts butter. You have to decide which you are. Even after he was long dead, I kept that advice close to my heart.

Clearly, some people enjoy wallowing in their own (perceived) misery, constantly whining and crying like a hungry, weak kitten. Others buckle down and face any and every storm, determined not to wear a Land O Lakes label on their forehead. But to each his own. We’re all free to choose the path we want to walk.

I wish I had put a ton more, I’m foolish when it comes to gambling but not enough to go “all in”.

Here’s my plan going forward, I will only post a message on a day when I fail to make 1% or greater and will follow the no stop loss rule. So if you don’t hear from me you know the Gideon strategy is working,

That’s cool. Just curious. I’ve seldom shorted the actual equities because of the expense (interest and fees) and it eats up a more significant amount of account BP. But if it works for you…

I tried it. Did really good during covid. Then lost a ton. More than I wanted to lose. A lot more than had I stuck with my ETFs and such.
I only do long haul now.

With a coke addiction, you lose $40k you still did 40k worth of blow. With day trading you lose it, you've lost it.

Though now I like to do sports betting. Playing really small. Still need the thrill but don't want to put up the $$.

Dang y’all hit rdhl I’m kinda jealous

I played ampx yesterday and did alright

Basically keep mostly cash and try to do a daily scalp to earn my cat food for the day and pay for every body else’s food stamps. If it goes well I can breathe easy and sleep in my bunk at the fema camp

If I lose I gotta shower with Brandon

Quick update, AREB was at the top of the list this am, and made appx +2.5% bought at 0800 and out at 0802. I set my sell for 2% gain and like clock work it hit within 2min. Day 2 in the books. Full disclosure I’m not crazy enough to buy 50k shares, I was in with 2000 shares a whopping $21 gain.

I understand you are securing gains, but after fees and taxes, hos is this even worth your 5 minutes of time? You spent 10 minutes (with quick research, buy and sell) to make $14 after tax, and that doesn't even consider the cost benefit with the amount you leveraged to gain this $14.

Not really worth my time but I find the entertainment value is priceless. the real question is it worth it to scale up. I think you know the answer.

Bro like

I think most of us that day trade do it on our phones while we’re in the wage cage

Like I gotta be here anyway if I can get another 14 bucks let me get another 14 bucks so I can pay my tribute to Brandon and get some cat food

Just swang coms from 92 to 99 for like 100 bucks

The fees on E Trade are zero...when I am not trading on margin there's no interest.

Know how you feel, I shorted 500 shares of TSLA at the open on 10/18 for 229.00ish. Wish I would have shorted 5000.

Currently running around 208 today (10/20), I'll take it.

Even though I have a strong theoretical knowledge of options, I have always just gone with outright purchasing and selling of shares. Now that option transaction costs are reasonable I have been using them more.

What’s the cost to borrow shares? I realize that it varies from stock to stock.

You’re making it work for your style of trading and that’s all that matters.

Ok this isn’t looking so good this am, I’m stuck in a trade, bought the leading gapper right at 0800 and so far down about 11% holding it without a stop loss please send prayers.

—After market open I’m down another15% at -25% and dropping,To quote a famous person “I may not financially recover from this”
