You’re asking for advice on a $280/month expense, dumb frick. What do you think?

I’ll be honest, I’ve never heard of a country club that is anywhere near that cheap.

Can it help you in any capacity work wise? Can you write off any of the meals/drinks as a result?

There are often hidden values in being a CC member. Especially at the right club.

I've been on the verge of joining Prairie Dunes for 2 years. If it wasn't un-playable for 4-5 months it would have been done already.

Cheaper than building a pool.

I would do it. I think our CC has a buy in of 75k and a three year wait list. Needless to say, we aren’t members. I doubt I would join regardless of the waitlist.

You’re going to want to go ahead and double that.

But you can afford a $280/m membership if it is worth $280/m to you.

No, it doesn't. I joined one for a few years to play golf with my family. It was double that.

I only make $100-110k a year and it should be pretty doable for you. I do t have kids but I also don't have a dual income household. $280 a month is not going out to dinner once or twice

Also, starting your kids early on the country club sports instead of thinking little Braxtyn’s got a big league curve

I agree with this. Better to be a decent tennis player and golfer at age 50 than to be like the uncle in napoleon dynamite.

My rule is always pay your bills, pay yourself(savings), do whatever you want with the rest.

For some people thats nice restaurants and drinks, others is cars, some its more house or vacations. Disposable income is disposable income. Not everything can be done with a formula. Do what makes you happy.
