The mileage companies need to hit now and coming up were laughable and to get around them they just build bigger and bigger vehicles that meet different categories to get around actually needing to build more efficient vehicles.
That’s interesting. Makes sense. I also think there is a general appetite for fuel efficiency such that epa mandates aren’t necessary. We’ve all gone through a few cycles of real gas price shock since Katrina I think most car buyers want better fuel economy if available.

Newer features than what my car has I actually like/use are basically 1. Android Auto/Apple Carplay 2. Radar cruise control (only for long road trips though)
Ha same. I basically went 20 years between buying a new car and the only features on my 2023 new car I use/like are:
1. Blind spot blinking light
2. Adaptive cruise control which I use about twice a year for 30-60 minutes
3. Heated seats because I’m getting old and turning into kind of a p-word.
Lane departure and auto breaking can absolutely get fricked, and I’d much rather stick a key in the ignition and save $800 on keys.
In any event - the cost of cars is a national crisis and stripping away the disposable income from most middle class Americans.

Lowering the cost of cars should be a big focus of any US administration. We are a car dependent society, and higher car costs ripple through everyone’s pocket book.

The newest model HYBRID is rated for 50 city, 47 highway while the gas only model gets 32 city, 41 highway in the best mileage trim.
Sheeet, my hybrid Land Cruiser is getting a whopping 18 - 22 mpg burning 91 octane at 7200+ altitude.

Pretty sure he meant impaired l, not loaded as in flush with cash.

If the base price of a car rising from $116k to $122k is turning you away then you couldnt really afford it to begin with....and nobdy, literally nobody, buys near zero optioned porsches. The base MSRP is kind of irrelevant, the only 911's you'll see are way above those prices with options.

Why is it always the Aggies and Auburnites that seem to be the biggest clowns on here?

Brother the one spec is 178 and I’m told by my dealer he can’t control msrp increases next few months for delivery. Aka if it does get hit with 25% it will have to go up, the msrp increase you saw was new 2026 model not tariff

Man we can even escape Aggie bitches on money talk.
