Hmmm....received a notification from Robinhood that Zeta had reported $.03 per share missing estimates by $.12???

i think the biggest issue is that the guidance raise for FY26 is basically just passing through the Q2 earnings beat. this implies either organic growth slowing down (unlikely) or sandbagging. ZETA sandbags a lot, the market may be getting tired of it

It is a complicated business. Much more complicated than I’m used to.
But I may take on the challenge of learning.
Bought 405 shares in overnight because I think this recovers soon.

Looks like the market is reacting well to the earnings this morning

Appreciate the thread cgrand. Watched that wealthmatica video on the palantir partnership and built a decent position afterwards. Bought 2 long calls last week that are already ITM as well. Feels like we have a solid runway as these entities get more entrenched. Good stuff

analyst opinions
- B. Riley Securities: $30 ? $32
- Needham: $25 ? $30
- BofA: $26 ? $29
- RBC: $25 ? $30
getting out of this range jail would set up the 30’s which I think is fair. Management has set a goal of 10B revenue at 30% margin and 30% free cash flow; if you think they can do that this will be a multi bagger. If you don’t then 30-36 is fair for what they have already done and guided for.
And to me that’s the thesis, it was unlikely to have downside risk trading in the high teens and low 20’s.

I will say I don’t think management is doing the stockholder any favors by all this sandbagging. To reiterate, their Q3 and Q4 guidance raise is simply passing thru the Q2 beat. They are effectively guiding for zero revenue from the PLTR go to market deal AND the OpenAI GEO vertical, while simultaneously telling everyone that they will both be accretive in FY2026.
I don’t think you can have it both ways and expect the instant re-rate. However I am confident that the re-rate is coming if they do what they are saying they will do. The caution is that they have refused thus far to guide for it.

this guy makes two excellent points relative to how ZETA is framing their attempt to be re-rated. Worth a read.

here is the bull case in one chart.
superscaled customer count and avg rev per user
30MM volume so far, avg is 8MM daily. Lots of liquidity the big holders are distributing shares. The previous volume shelf was way down in the teens

28 and 24 are levels to watch. If it drops 24 I would take some profits

Claude reviews ZETA earnings. ZETA is its largest holding at 11% of its portfolio
The quarter underneath all this: revenue 443 million, up 44 percent and roughly 22 million above the company's own guidance. Adjusted operating profit 92 million, up 56 percent. Cash generation 58 million, up 73 percent. Net income under accounting rules positive at 8 million against a loss a year ago.
The line I care most about is full-year guidance for that accounting-rules earnings number, which went from 2 to 4 cents up to 9 to 11 cents. When I bought this in May, the gap between the two profit figures was the weak point I wrote into my thesis. It just narrowed considerably.
What I am watching from here: growth excluding acquisitions once the Marigold deal anniversaries in November, and whether the cash guidance converts. Sharing how I read my own holding, nothing more."

quote:this seems like a good bet to happen. Earnings report mentions a “phase 2” in the PLTR deployment strategy. PLTR already has a contract with the Fed to provide consumer data. Warsh has said he wants real time constantly updated consumer transaction data. ZETA can provide that
There is a customer with nearly unlimited need for accurate and constantly updated consumer data…the Fed. They already partner with PLTR to synthesize publicly available data, ZETA owns a 500+MM individual data set. PLTR could help make a future contract with ZETA happen

the trade desk, woof:
ZETA is eating their lunch.
$TTD now down into the $13's and down 53% YTD

good week for zeta obviously
up 23%, closed above 26 at the high of the day on pretty high volume.
there will be news at the corporate event in October that is alleged to be the rollout of AthenaOS which is alleged to be their new operating system with which they can attack ServiceNow, Salesforce, Adobe, etc head on.
And remember this is a joint invasion of the market alongside Palantir

nick and ronnie scored an interview with David Steinberg (CEO, majority owner). must listen
Posted on 8/7/26 at 9:21 pm to cgrand
quote:in that interview above steinberg says he was told that quote from Alex Karp (PLTR) was specifically about Zeta. Not necessarily about the “compete” part but definitely the “competent” part.
Partners we need technically exceedingly competent partners. Partners doesn't mean a vassal. We don't have to agree on every issue. We don't even have to agree on every client. They can occasionally compete against us.”
I don’t think the scope of what the Palantir partnership can be is even remotely priced in.
lots of momentum here. I can’t think of a bear case except a sea change in data collection policy. That would be a disaster
