Paul could have bought it. Not a dick move just good business. Now if he had done it behind Paul's back like Paul like to claim....then yea that would be a dick move.

Numerous people said PM had the chance to buy it but didn't.
he got into a bidding war with his friend to buy his friend's own music out from under him.

how is that not a dick move again?

I actually agree. One of the only good business moves that MJ ever made in my opinion.

It's not like he got into a bidding war with someone who only makes let's say $200,000 a year. PM had the funds and decided that he didn't want to spend that much.

I am sorry but friend or not Paul really can't be mad when he had the chance to buy it. At that point it was business.

PM actually was worth mre than MJ at that point and could have easily beat him on the bidding.

It's definitely gonna help his kids out....maybe they won't have to sell the right to his music prematurely.....I mean I personally don't think most of it is that great but it seems like the whole world is against me and if something that important to your family still belongs to you then you should try to hold onto it for as long as possible IMO

If Sir Paul had bought it, his bitch wife would probably own part of the catalog now. So it's for the best.

Trusting women, with ownership of things...silly.

I thought he ended up relieving that several years ago, and that Paul McCartney was trying to buy it..??

Maybe that never ended up happening though...

McCartney advised MJ that the best investment for a musician was music rights. So MJ told him he was going to buy the right to his (McCartney's) songs. he didn't quite pull that off but he did buy the majority of the Beatles catalog and MJ and SOny outbid McCartney and Yoko Ono in the process. That is where the issue turned sour, when MJ started licensing songs like "Revolution" to Nike and "Yesterday" to a ton of companies for commercials.

MJ then borrowed twice against his half of the catalog (Sony still owns the other half) so he couldn't give the rights back to McCartney even if he had wanted to.

It was on more than cable news. The AP ran an article on it and hence the term "estimated" so yea they could be wrong but it will still be worth something after his debt is cleared.

we can stop with the "Who is paying for this"....or "How can they afford that" MJ questions.

Both Michael and his father are pretty famous for stiffing people they owe money to though. Let's not forget that.
