O- Line played great, but the QB made the read and got rid of the ball. Look at the sack totals from the first three games. Same O-Line, same receivers and same running backs two different results. Also look at 3rd down conversion and time of possession. If your defense is struggling it helps when your offense can win the time of possession.

Amazing what a good game plan and play calling can do for an offensive line.

Short passing game and running the ball slows down the rush. Still don't understand why we didn't do more of this type of stuff earlier.

Because you can’t run power or throw slants unless your QB runs a 4.8 or less.

Same defensive players including the start of the game.
What was the difference.
They started executing.
Same offensive line, except one starter was out. They executed.
All the running backs had holes to run through.
They executed.
Maybe the lack of spring practice was the key to bad execution in previous games.
The week off seems to have helped on both sides of the ball.
The future looks bright again.
No need to fire Pilini, Ensminger, and Orgeron just yet.

It’s amazing how that happens when you run the damn ball. Key stat is only 21 pass attempts

Some QBs make the O line look bad with their inability to feel the pressure and move accordingly, or getting rid of the ball. I find it hard to believe our O line just magically improved that much. Was there plays where TJ had plenty of time? Yes, but Brennan has bad plays like that as well.

But 16 in the first half. And for over 200 yards

Who said it was magic? It’s practice and coaching.

We let inside rushers run free against MSU. That has nothing to do with who was playing QB.

Also, (surprise) the defense can’t pin their ears back on every play when you actually commit to running the football.

I remember when Etling took over in 2016, our offensive line immediately looked better, and that includes in the run game.

What would he look like playing a better defense? Never seen him get rattled. Is it because he just gets rid of the ball so fast? Never really needs to go through progressions that often cuz hes just good at putting the ball in the play makers hands? We need to see more of all the qbs this year

South Carolina is arguably the best team we’ve played to date.

I think if we established the run early against st and missu we’d be sitting pretty at 4-0. I’m excited we have great potential on offense these next few years. Still got a ways to go to get back our D!

Because it didn’t work. We DID try it. Every time we ran the ball it was a wasted down.

I could be wrong, but I believe we have 0 sacks allowed in Cam Wires two starts over Rosenthal.

Not defensively which is what actually matters in this discussion

The run. The run. The run sets everything up.
