Forgot to put 6-1 with Ohio St schedule
All loses to Top ten teams
Posted by lemc601 on 10/30/25 at 12:58 pm
LSU would be 6-1 currently constructed with Ohio State schedule the same production from the offense. Fire BK might’ve been an over reaction. The SEC is very tough this year and a 3 loss LSU team will beat the crap out of Ga Tech, Indiana, BYU, Virginia, Louisville, Cincinnati, Michigan, Houston, Utah & Memphis all of which are ranked higher than LSU. Once the season is over and Ole Miss, Vandy & A&M full resume is complete everyone will see LSU was not going to Win in Oxford or Nashville.
SEC scheduling (54-13 @ Home 17-22 on the road)
Posted by lemc601 on 10/20/25 at 1:27 pm
Neutral site games 4-1. Home field advantage is a deciding factor in some of these games. LSU is currently 1-2 in true road games. Only one team has a losing home record this year (Arkansas). Most times the home team will win in the SEC is this years trend. Somebody will have to break the trend to win the conference. Right now the best in conference road win is Bama @ GA. Keep an eye on this week’s matchups to see if the trend continues
3 Man front 8 drop in zone
Posted by lemc601 on 9/28/25 at 11:39 am
Hand the ball off 50 times and get 3-4 yards each time. Keep the ball away from Ole Miss offense and LSU great defense is fresh all game. Shout out to PJ Woodland & DJ Pickett man they are really good young players. Once Echols came in the running game started going. When you have a 5 star Running back with a 3 man front you give it to him 25 times. I do think Nuss is checking to a pass when runs are called that’s on coaching giving him the ability to check out of the calls.
2nd year starter jumps
Posted by lemc601 on 11/17/24 at 11:40 am
If Nuss comes back next year it will be night and day from his first year. Take your shots on this kid now. Because next year revenge tour is going to be tough.
Boutte intially was planning to stay for his SR year. If he stays does the offense take off like it did? Or does it resemble more like last years offense? Does Nabers have the year he had? Also does Thomas and or Lacy transfer out during the offseason? Maybe Daniels struggles last year was locking in on Boutte too much because he was the preseason best WR in the country. I also think they absolutely blew a chance at getting Keon Coleman out of the transfer portal for fear of losing Lacy to the portal. That move alone could’ve been the difference in one win this season in Oxford.
KJ Jefferson
Posted by lemc601 on 9/24/23 at 10:33 am
KJ Jefferson is an equivalent quarterback talent wise at same progression as Dak Prescott. I was at the game Dak empties the stadium by the start of the 4th. KJ Jefferson had that same ability to do the same. They will not play a better QB the rest of the season. If LSU plays the same or better the rest of the way they should be favored to win each contest. I would like to see LSU run the ball more on the road next week and in Missouri and they will smother both teams. If LSU leans on the run the rest of the way with 6 healthy RB’s they will beat whomever. If JD tries to play to get drafted or increase his stats they will drop one they should’ve one. With 6 good RB JD should only have 5-8 rushing attempts and 25 pass attempts per game.
re: LSU is more elite than you think in recruiting

It just highlights that LSU is indeed an elite program and they recruit as such. I compared CU and LSU to show how elite of a level that the program currently recruits at. LSU players on the 2nd and 3rd string will start at other P5 schools.
LSU is more elite than you think in recruiting
Posted by lemc601 on 12/26/22 at 7:38 pm
Last year Colorado recruiting class was headlined by the 600th ranked player in the class. Our recruiting class lowest ranked player is 614. That means the last man in this recruiting class would headline at other schools recruiting class. Omorion Miller was not a take in this class and he is the second highest rated recruit in Colorado current class. To put this in perspective Koy Moore, Alex Adams & Trey Palmer all transferred and started at their transfer schools. I’m not sure any of those three guys would crack this years top 4 WR rotation.
True, but with SEC athletes
4th Qtr Offense
Posted by lemc601 on 9/5/22 at 11:49 am
Whatever they start doing when they were down two scores looked exciting. If they can replicate that for a full game that’s going to be exciting. 99 yards with a minute and change every play you have to have it. I think FSU having a game to warm up before this one was worth one point advantage to them. LSU came out flat in the first half, but when they got down two scores that offense hit a gear that FSU couldn’t match. The momentum of the game started to shift and if they played OT who knows with a hot QB. Sucks they lost but despite how bad they played it’s some good things to takeaway from it as they move forward. That offense has the potential to take LSU to a similar trajectory as Burrows first year to the Fiesta Bowl. That defense was not bad but outside of #5 coming up to lay hits on ball carries I didn’t see anyone flash.
Just for perspective on expectations.
Dabo only has one more chip than O
Posted by lemc601 on 10/3/21 at 2:43 pm
And they don’t look very well this season with just as much talent and a weaker schedule. Jimbo has the same amount of championships as O and they are underperforming with a talented roster. An unranked LSU team was on prime time tv slot against a 20 something ranked Auburn team, and it was the game of the day honestly. Hate that LSU lost but so did Norte Dame and they will build a statue of Brian Kelly and O has more championships than him.
re: 2 safety in the back
Posted by lemc601 on 9/12/21 at 1:15 pm to xGeauxLSUx
Go back and watch the last two games. Every big play the safety was up. UCLA hit the crosser to the TE and yesterday the big run off tackle. The safety is in no mans land if they are back they can slow the play down until back side pursuit comes. It’s man to man with safety over the top.
2 safety in the back
Posted by lemc601 on 9/12/21 at 12:47 pm
2 safeties should always be on the back end. Every time the safety comes up they break a big run. That’s because the safety can’t support the run like a 4th LB so it’s 10 against 11. I know they have to see this, just keep two back to help slow the big play runs down. On offense Max has to push the ball downfield to open the running lanes up. Everyone on defense can crowd and disquise the blitz from CB, S and LB if you are only looking to throw the ball 10 yards and below. That’s why the backup QB is more appealing because he is willing to take the top off the defense. Taking the top off the defense makes the safety and CB back up to cover longer routes which means the RB have more room to run.

It could mean that College Football will get fresher players in the ranks. Most times 3-5 star athletes are playing both ways in high school. Hypothetically speaking what if you take the LF high school hits away from him. That may equal an extra NFL season long term. I think the running back position is unique because once you hit 30 yrs old production falls off.
What he saw is the difference between a 5 star at LSU knowing the NFL is 3 years away and a 2-3 star from Wisconsin grinding for an opportunity in 5 years. If you go to an SEC school most likely you’re going to the NFL. You will get a shot just based off of going to LSU.

South Carolina is arguably the best team we’ve played to date.
Zero sacks on 21 pass attempts
Posted by lemc601 on 10/25/20 at 8:42 am
O- Line played great, but the QB made the read and got rid of the ball. Look at the sack totals from the first three games. Same O-Line, same receivers and same running backs two different results. Also look at 3rd down conversion and time of possession. If your defense is struggling it helps when your offense can win the time of possession.

Are you sure with how Texas looked so far and 100K fans in Death Valley to compensate for the youth
LSU 41 Florida 35
Posted by lemc601 on 10/11/20 at 2:07 pm
Just a hunch because I see an LSU offense that can score very fast and a young but talented defense that everyone has already written them off. Young D getting thrown into SEC play right off the back was bound to struggle. Our front 7 were at best rotational players last year they were never starters for last years team. If you look at the original schedule they would just now begin SEC play. So those bad defensive performances would’ve been against UTSA, Texas and Rice. Then you jump into SEC play.
