This new playoff system is dog shite.

SMU, Indiana, Boise, and ASU all being in the playoffs is hilarious
disagree, they all had excellent seasons. I will beg to agree one 1 spot. Carolina was absolutely playing lights out and deserved to be there. 3 loses tho. I think they were better than 3/4 of the teams that are in but lose only 2 and they might of got in if Clemson had lost last night.

LOL, Indiana below ASU, SMU and Clemson even though they play in the big bad B1G.

This is true. The only downside is that I will never go to games like Southeastern and South Alabama. I just don’t get any enjoyment out of watching us play those teams.

It is a much higher high playing tough OOC games heading in, but a much lower low if you lose.

On the flip side, you can get a tough OOC opponent in the playoff. Doesn’t need to be in the regular season.

I’m telling yall. Clemson would agree that this series should be cancelled. It would be a mutual agreement.

LOL. Clemson knows it will win both games. Would be really foolish of them to back out. These are gimmies for them against a Tier 2 SEC program. They won't be backing out.

With some posters talking about some teams not playing anyone, let's visit Alabama's schedule. They didn't play Texas...didn't play Ole Miss...didn't play A&M. Did beat Georgia but hung on by their fingernails to win that game. Beat a Michigan team early in the season when they were really inexperienced...almost a complete squad turnover. Then they lost to Vandy and OU which LSU destroyed. And they squeezed by South Carolina at home. And their Wisconsin win looked good at the time but that was before Wisconsin didn't even qualify for a bowl game.

This is the part I still can't agree with. Those aforementioned teams are NOT one of the 12 best teams in the country (I might be able to include Boise). Until SOS or some type of RPI is used this will happen again and again. I hope the games validate it in a HUGE way. We'll see...

The same way a number of the auto bids in the NCAA basketball tournament aren't the best 64 teams in the country.

Alabama is out because they lost to two bad conference teams. Not because they lost to Tennessee or played a tough OOC opponent.

True, this is why we’re opening up, with no warm-up game , against Clemson next year

Alabama's non-conference schedule wasn't tough at all.

It’s a bad precedent for committee to set but I’m not mad bama is the one getting screwed

They’ve gotten the benefit of the doubt a lot by sitting at home

agreed. There are many situations with many of the teams where they lost to a team they shouldn't have or didn't beat anyone good.

This brings the question of all champions, runner ups and wild cards getting in and expanding the field and eliminate the confusion.

All 1st place conference champs
Runner ups in their conference
Wild cards

Even with these 4 teams in, there are still 8 available spots. If you can’t win one of those 8 spots, what’s the complaint?

Any of the teams in the playoffs can beat any SEC team. They got it right.

I’d prefer to see some attempt to implement some sort of national scheduling guidelines, to equal to equal things for everyone out in a manner to which we aren’t playing only dogshit OOC games, which aren’t really enjoyable for anyone.

Them losing the game has no effect on them as long as they can win their shitty conference.

You just have to win.

Bama didn’t get in because:

They lost to two 6-6 teams
They didn’t play for a championship
They had 3 losses

Look at the bracket. No other 3 loss teams in there.
