Can we turn the page on that fiasco of a debacle in January?

Can I say that I'm glad to finally see a scrimmage stat line for QB attached to just one person.

Why do we get Mett's stats but JJ and JL were always combined?

Nothing to write home about. Looked good in scrimmage, lets hope he continues to work through spring and really bring it in the fall. To be honest, we wont have to throw it that much against most teams. Metts going to be good, but its not like he will have gaudy stats. we will continue to pound the football.

I've said it several times on here and I'll say it again. Our offense will look VERY similar to what we saw the first 8 games of last season. Add in just a couple more deep passes per game and that's our offense. We were shredding opponents with that offense with a below average QB. Imagine what an average to above average QB can do with the awesome run game we have. It's going to be fun to watch. Road to Miami 2012.

We don't need additional long passes. We were very successful throwing long throughout 2011.

What we weren't able (willing???) to do in 2011 was the midrange passing game (15-25 yards). We pretty much gave up these kinds of passes since Jamarcus Russell left. Neither Flynn, Lee, or Jefferson threw these kinds of passes with any success.

And of course, it is these very kinds of passes that force linebackers to play more honestly (instead of crowding the line-of-scrimmage).

LSU didn't throw those passes because JJ took 5 seconds to wind up and throw the ball. Those routes with his wind up would've been easy picks.

He would have been able to throw the ball downfield in the BCSNG.

What makes you think he could have done this against bama's D?

What makes you think he couldn't? No doubt he was the best passing QB on the team.

I agree, should have only been down 6-0. Any offense at all would have made this a game. But, no use looking back hopefully this team plays up to its potential and we finish off a special year.

Teams with great QB's and so-so defenses have won it all. Teams with ok QB's and great defenses have won it all. Hopefully we will have both or close to it.

we played the worst offensive performance of all time and we were only down 9-0 at half. One different QB could have made a difference

For about 3/4ths of the game, one play could have made a huge difference.

yep, we won't see much change in terms of what play's are called. the execution will be much much better imo. defense's won't be able to crowd the line, yet they won't be able to just give up on trying to stop the run either. i guess the best comparison would be maybe the steelers offense? not 100% because i don't watch a ton of nfl games.
