I really, really wish that we could have had him up to speed last year. It still hurts to think about what we let slip through our finger.
He was probably a better choice to play than the two in front of him the first day he walked on campus. Other coaches would have viewed him as a viable option given what else we had. But we have Les and with Les you get the Les decision making process in all its glory.

In my opinion if Les wasn't so hard headed & tried Mett at least 1 series we may have seen a different outcome.

No report of how he ran the speed option to the short side? What kind of reporting is this?

Hindsight is 20/20

As long as that "decision making process" equates to the most wins in BCS football since 05, the most SEC wins since 05, the most West titles since 05, and NR'ings of #1, #2, #3, #5, #8, and #17 since 05 I'll take "its glory" and just say "thank you very much"!
I wonder if Mett wakes at night in cold sweats thinking bout the expectations of those who couldn't be pleased by 13-1, 9-0, and BCSCG appearance.

What has ever happened on this board -- or anywhere else in Tiger Nation -- to make you think anyone would have faulted Miles for replacing Jefferson with anyone after three quarters of performance like that? And when you cite anything other than replacing an unproductive QB after three quarters of lack of production, you are completely proving the point that your complaint is wholely unjustified.

LSU fans -- especially on the Rant -- are stupid and irrational on a great many things. Getting pissed about trying something different when the current plan isn't working has not been one of them. Mostly because we've pretty much never had a coach willing to make a change like that in a game. The only instance I can think of in the last 20+ years is the 2000 Peach Bowl, and everyone involved still says that was just the result of injuries to Smalling and Booty.
Apparently most coaches, and especially really successful ones like Saban and Miles, simply do not change or adapt a plan during games no matter how badly their plan is failing. The only difference I've noticed between guys like them and guys like DiNardo is that they are more capable of making those changes productively between games and between seasons.

Perhaps cause they feel what they are doing offers their team its best shot.
No coach makes all the right calls, but those 2 have some damn fine results that have come bout cause of their calls/efforts.
I'm willing to ride their play/call over mine or bout anyone one else in the college game.
Of couse, hind-sight is always 20/20...go figure.

It's just frustrating and mystifying to me how the smart move (which it apparently must be) is to stick with a failed gameplan to the very end no matter how badly or obviously it is failing. I mean, the slow starts against Georgia and Arkansas were one thing; but no points and 2 first downs after 3 quarters when your down by 2 scores is a situation where I cannot for the life of me figure out why it isn't smarter to make a change and try what you originally thought was your second best plan.
I'm confident that Miles made the right decisions. I'd just like to understand why the apparently wiser move was in fact not.

Wasn't this thread about Zach in scrimmage?

I'm hoping Miles calls a short side option to begin the spring game and turn to the fans and put his arms in the air and yell f*** you to the fans.
