True, I'm cautiously optimistic he will be a top 4 sec qb this year.

Says the guy who was in love with Jefferson. Maybe if mett was 4 of 22, then you would feel better.

I really, really wish that we could have had him up to speed last year. It still hurts to think about what we let slip through our finger.

We had the best regular season in LSU history arguably college football history. 1 player would not have won Jan 9

IMO the best club in LSU's history. Unforunately Bama had one of their best and probably the best D ever in CFB. Lee and Zach may well have been just target practice (though I think the options should have been exeercised instead of just standing there). The best thing is club secured their 11th conference championship and is sneaking up on UT, who is still asleep.

we played the worst offensive performance of all time and we were only down 9-0 at half. One different QB could have made a difference

Our o-line was manhandled. Big boys games are won in the trenches. Air Mett would not have won that game.

You, like 98% of football watchers out there, clearly do not watch line play.

I heard a lot of chatter after the game about the Bama D-Line using dummy counts, which would explain why Faulk and Hurst(the furthest away from the snap) had so much trouble in this game.

But then again, even Blackwell was getting manhandled on the interior by Bama's #58. So I'm skeptical of that claim.

Nothing to write home about. Looked good in scrimmage, lets hope he continues to work through spring and really bring it in the fall. To be honest, we wont have to throw it that much against most teams. Metts going to be good, but its not like he will have gaudy stats. we will continue to pound the football.

People seem to forget that Jefferson was near perfect in the first half of the BCSCG - at least throwing the ball. He had only one incompletion, and that was Ware dropping a sure 1st down in the right flat. If Ware holds onto that pass, Jefferson is perfect as a passer (again, for the 1st half).

Perhaps he can be criticized for not audibling out of some poor playcalls. Or for not throwing a pass or two away (to avoid a sack). But talking strictly about throwing the ball accurately (and to the proper receiver), Jefferson did exactly what was asked, and did it extremely well.

But if we call a WR screen to Randle, and Beckham whiffs on his block (causing a 3 yard loss), whose fault is that???

This is encouraging.
Those are good stats.

Let's not turn every ZM thread into a 1/9 thread, ok?
