That's a fricking deadly lineup right there. Holy shite can you imagine what that would be like? Lol, then we would have some monsters coming off the bench too. We have had our share of basketball talent come through LSU haven't we? I'm not talking about players that just excel at the college level, these are guys that dominated in the pros as well. Absolutely filthy. Geaux Tigers!

Ben Simmons and stanley roberts would be great backups for our all time squad as well. Lol, that's just ridiculous when you think about it.

This is the only one where there can be solid argument concerning who else could or should have that spot. I've contemplated this lineup for years. And one can make very good arguments for Rudy. But there were so many others that were very talented that could be in that spot. Rudy usually gets the nod because of his longevity in the program, but there were many that were more talented, more skilled and athletic. But if you are going to put them together on a court to compete, Rudy was a great teammate. Others like, John Williams, Dewayne Scales, Leonard Mitchell, Stanley Roberts, Stromile, Tyrus Thomas, all were very good basketball players. I'd even throw in Ben, but not a big fan of Bens. But, if I was going to take anyone other than Rudy, it's be John Williams. Had he not gained weight and been more dedicated to the game, he'd be a HOF'er. He was a great basketball player, very skilled for his size at that time. The Bullets even had him playing point at times, and he was like another Magic.

Yea, Macklin was the only flux pick imo.

In addition to your great picks, you could add Howard 'Hi C' Carter, Ethan Martin, and many others to this list.

I agree with you about Williams. One of the most talented players ever to wear purple and gold. If Rudy doesn’t get hurt and LSU wins the title, I might be considered the GOAT in LSU basketball.

He kinda escaped my memory when making this, but yea big John Williams from Los Angeles def should have been in consideration. He was the first major recruit we landed from California and yes the only issue he ever had was his weight. Smooth as silk around the boards. Thanks for the heads up.

Macklin is one of only four players to have his jersey number retired at LSU men’s basketball. I think he qualifies...

on a team like that you wouldnt even ask Ben Simmons to make jumpers. Just do everything else, which he was awesome at. That considered, I would have him on there over Rudy. A starting 5 of CJ, Pistol, Simmons, Bob, and Shaq with wade coaching them would be a nightmare for absolutely any other school. Unc, Duke, and Ucla included.

You wouldn't ask because he wouldn't be on it.

Shaq and Petit also consensus NBA top 50 players of all time. Maravich considered top 50 by many.

LSU is not a basketball school though lol.

That's the great thing about it.

That team matches up well with the bluebloods like UCLA, Kentucky, Duke, etc...

Are they the best collection of talent ever from one school, maybe not but it's right up there imo.

Dude could be a potential NBA hall of famer. Leave your emotions at the door for this type thing. If Ben isn’t in the top 5, he’s definitely in the top 10.
