LSU COULD BE SERIOUSLY VERY EASILY 6 AND 5. SERIOUSLY THATS NOT A JOKE
He was very close to starting 22-18 instead of 34-6. If you go back & look at his first three seasons, there were many games against less talented teams that could have gone either way. Fortunately, for Miles, LSU's players were usually better and made a late play to bail him out.
It's ridiculous that it finally took something like last week's debacle for some LSU fans see that he's not a good coach. He's just been lucky.

Getting excited over the past is what Gumps do. I live in the now. Les has a HUGE game on Saturday. Screw the pooch there and yours stats can be shoved up your arse. We lose, and the downward spiral could become a free fall. With our talent, these close calls against vastly inferior teams and continually losing the "big ones" is enough to make any sane fan question what is going on. Les, by all accounts is a good man. But even a good man has to earn his keep, especially if its 4 million bucks. I have high expectations for that kind of money and in my opinion, we aren't "getting what we paid for". Just saying.

So, if we beat Arky and win the bowl game, that will be 10 wins, but I guess you mean "after" this year, huh?
No i dont, we will not win ten games ever again under Miles.

Miles will be here for at least two more seasons, so some folks around here better stock up on Pepto Bismol and Valium.

Beat Arky, win the bowl game.. 10-3. I can live with dat.
Next year will tell the tale... but Miles is 50-14. He get da benefit of da doubt till further notice. Plus he won the crystal.

The mainstream and widespread permanence of the 12 game schedule just appeared on the NCAA scene in these last few seasons..It makes a massively huge difference in getting a 10th win each year.
Miles has been perfect in OOC play, absolutely excellent, despite some close calls. But, SEC play is where an SEC HC earns his pay.
LSU SEC 2008: 3-5
LSU SEC 2009: 4-3
Championships in football are won in November, LSU 0-for-November dating to late 2007..0-8 streak.
And yet even before 2008 and 2009, many like myself were stating "Process vs Results" was severely on the wane..and now the vast talent edges that LSU had over all SECers(sans Fla) is a gap that has been closed to much greater degrees.
I had 2009 as 9-3, with losses to UF, Bama, and Ole Miss. And LSU was more competitive vs UF & Bama than I expected them to be, before the season began. Though I did think they would play Bama and Miss well, as those games approached.
In a down year for the SEC, and versus their OOC fluff part of their schedule, LSU has continued 2008's display of a team that woefully lacks instructional minutiae.

I'm with Katy; I've just lost confidence in Coach. That display of game management in the last couple of minutes against Ole Miss was shockingly bad. You don't see it that bad at the high school level. If that had been Coach Paterno we would all shake our heads and say he's lost it, didn't know the time on the clock or what was going on, and it's time for him to go. And it's time to go for Coach Miles. Anybody that bad is not going to be able to compete. The program will sink. Recruits will go elsewhere. Expensive I'm sure to replace Coach Miles, but the longer this goes on the more expensive it will be.
Another thought--the coaching display in the last minutes at Oxford suggests coaching problems earlier in the game that aren't obviously apparent, like the five sixths of the iceburg below the water surface. Forget the BCS title two years ago--for whatever reason (personal problems, maybe, or early dementia) Coach Miles isn't up to it anymore, and it's not going to get better.

I have lost confidence in Coach Miles, and, if it were in my power to do so, I would relieve him of his duties.

Can't believe more people don't see it this way.

WHY IS THIS ABOUT SABAN?
The question is Les v. Possible Replacement
There is no question of Saban in there.

Serious question. Have you ever taken a calculus course? Are you familiar with the rate of change (first deriviative) or the rate of the rate of change (second derivative)? Well, the second derivative is working against Miles.

You are right, sometimes you are lucky and get the break (Georgia), sometimes you don't (Bama). Throw out the records and the past, how do you explain the debacle in the last minute last week and how do you reconcile that with this coach bringing you back to the National Champ?

i have lost faith in the ranturds and boo-gers who hold to their negative ways no matter.
they can prove the negative about miles, gc, the players, lsu or positive fans no matter what is said.
i, too, still have faith in miles.
i remember the ranturds who wanted to fire miles after the ark loss in 07. to hell w/ luck, it's all miles' fault.
what crap from crappers.
