Unfortunately, that may be inevitable at some point. I just don't see any way the program will be consistently better in the long term without first going through some tough times (unless a certain Big Ten school needs a new coach soon, which doesn't look promising). I hope I am wrong, but I haven't seen anything yet that indicates otherwise.

this is false. and therein lies the problem. unfortunately the old mold Tiger fan is going by the wayside; giving way to fair weather fans who are only happy if LSU is winning national titles every other year. i for one agree with what you're trying to get across. i've lived through much worse than Les Miles in my lifetime. you cut me and I'd still bleed purple and gold even if we went 0-12.

yes but just like duckie said you took the opportunity to post you negative opinion which you post in every thread and make sure you make every positive thread a negative on because it makes you feel better.

Go post that crap in one of the many many negatiger threads.

Why post it here.

And i wonder if you were posting that in our National Championship year when we had a good qb .

Put matt flynn or matt mauck even with this talent and you would see a different team.

But we have to play with the players we have and support them.

And i promise you if i am a good qb next year and i want playing time i am going to look hard at LSU. And if we are smart we would go after one this year and show them that immediate playing time s there for the taking.

There are many positives looking at this team if you can get beyond the qb.

That is why even with the struggles we are still 2-0 with young players gaining experience.

Get off miles back and pull for our team.

Therein shows your lack of foresight and understanding of talent. While I agree, LSU has seen worse teams in terms of wins and losses, but I would contend that those teams did not consistently have the high level of talent that this coaching staff has enjoyed.

The fact that you are content with 4-5 SEC (because lets face it that's what matters) wins per year, with talent that consistently ranks in the top 5 (per Rivals, Scout, ESPN, etc.) shows your lack of foresight. Some people see the opportunity for LSU to compete consistently at a very high level because of things like talent, recognition, revenues, etc. However, being content with 4-5 SEC wins per year will eventually lead to the decline of things like recruiting, recognition (which is already happening nationally) and of course revenues. Those of us have the foresight to see what opportunities this program has are disgusted by the way it is being thrown away by the current staff. Contentment breads mediocrity and that is where we are headed.

Good post. Sometimes you just need to keep it to yourself if your posting when in foul mood. Or at least post once and not go to every other thread and post the same tired ole' thing. Post once and get it off your chest then don't keep rehashing it and ruining every thread started. Remember - you're brilliant!!! and it will only take one post for all of us to recognize it and know it. More people need to rewatch the game a few times in my opinion and try to bring up some new stuff your seeing by Iso'ing on different positions so we have something different to talk about as the week goes on. I'm rewatching isolating on the O-line right now and will give my thoughts when done but man the defense sure is fun to watch in between each possession!!!

Absolutely, Curley Hallman would have had this program in the toilet by now.

Remember Nick Saban talking about the "catastrophe syndrome" when he was here?

Looks like it's still alive.

We're 2-0. Our D looks like it's 50x faster than last year and is 100x more aggressive at going after the QB. Our running game is looking much more positive after just two games. Shepard is on the field. PP is on special teams and the biggest threat we've ever had back there. We have a solid FG kicker. Our O-line through two games has opened bigger holes and been better in pass protection. We have freshman Mathieu, Montgomery, etc. that are looking awesome. There are a lot of positives. We have to wait for the better opponents to really measure things, but there are a number of things to be optimistic about.

Yes, JJ had a bad game against Vandy. He was mostly fine against UNC. Our QB play needs to improve. It was a little alarming, but some people are jumping off of buildings. It doesn't mean he's going to play that game over and over the whole year. McElroy at Bama went four straight games when they started the SEC last year without getting 150 yards and threw two picks while not reaching 100 yards when they played South Carolina. But he had some big games when they needed it at the end of the season. If we see more of the same against State, hopefully the coaches will shake things up and see what happens. It's not the end of the world. If we can improve the passing game and take care of the ball, we should be pretty good.

Now if our passing game stays the same as it was against Vandy for the whole year, then I can see where jumping off a building would be an option.

just keep being negative their ellesssuuuu

maybe you can change your name to ihateelllesssuuuu. Or iknoweverything

I can tell you from experience that 98% of you have no idea what it takes to run a college football program. How hard these coaches work. The time commitment they make. On the road recruiting and during the season travleing all over. Coaching is an 80 to 90 hour a week job.

And you get judged by all the know it alls who never coached a game in their life or even knows what it takes.

I dont have the time to go over it with you but if you did you just might shut your negative mouth and have a little more understanding.

Yes our coaches are not perfect and neither are our players.

And heres a statement: Neither are our fans.

Me included.

I am sorry for fans that are unable to just enjoy the ride. Before you know it the season will be over. Life goes by fast and i hope for all of us we can find a way to win or lose just pull for our university and team without pointing out their flaws every single second.

I made a thread this week about positives from the Vandy game and it got hijacked by negaters within 10 posts.

The rant has become an endless pit of negativity our defense looks lights out and negaters say we haven't played anyone. Our run game starts playing well and they refuse to acknowledge the improvement in run blocking. We all know JJ had issues this week and I will admit I would like to see JL to see if he has improved but we have about 30 players playing well and all these people do is bitch about one. Calm down and support your team. We're under rated and could be top 10 as early as next week. What are y'all going to say if JJ plays well? I'm sure you have something in mind just in case.

This is my major problem with what is going on around this message board. A positive thread talking about something we should all be happy about gets hijacked almost instantly by posters that think they are more "realistic".

They generally hate "sunshine pumpers" themselves but it's a lot more acceptable on a fan site to have sunshine pumpers that need to be brought down to earth than posters that pump nothing but doom and gloom that need perfection to be happy.

Like I said last game, if I ever need to feel guilty about being happy after a win then I just log onto the rant.

Lol.

People are entitled to their opinions but come on, a 24 point win shouldn't cause a weeks worth of drama. I'm not always a positiger but after a win in which the team corrects a dozen complaints found on this board the week before you would think there would be more posts saying good than bad.

I hear that.

Another talking point by the doom and gloom guys is that "obviously a majority of LSU fans think the way we do because of all of the posts that are of the same mindset as us".

I think it's BS. It's just that it seems the people that have the most negative things to say tend to be the loudest and most prolific posters. Posters that aren't happy about something they see wrong with the football team don't usually take pride in their evaluation and post about it for an entire week until the next game. At least that's not how I am.

Here is something relatively positive: I rewatched the game tonight to take a look at the option and (brace yourselves for blasphemy) JJ was good at everything but the stretch, usually to the weak side. On those plays there was always a missed block contributing to his problems. Usually he made the correct read and gained yardage.

I still maintain that JL deserves a shot though.

It is truly sad to se the depths that some people will go with their posts. I had to DVR the UNC game due to work and whenI got around to watching it I opened the Scoreboard and read the comments that corresponded with the game. I told my wife the next morning I am done with the Scoreboard during games due to the overwhelmng sense of doom and negativity. It resembles the hatred seen in a marriage gone bad with all of the same bitterness and spite. Simple words like "good morning" are quickly cut with responses of "it wold be if we had a coach with a brain".

To see people write that they would prefer to lose than win the way we have or that they would still not be happy with Miles and would call for his head even if we went 13-0 this year with a series of close tough wins, is truly disturbing.

I have all but secluded myslef to the Outdoorboard due to the entire feel of the board.

ellessuuuu you have hit it on the head. Great post and yes we are Tigers and we need to see both sides of the table. Coaching staff needs to step up or we are going back to the middle of the pack. None of us want to go back there. We will not win SEC or play in SEC Champ game every year but we should expect to be knocking on the door every year.

Good post Duckie! People need to remember that the team has been making major strides forward. If we don't make a good run at the MNC this year, we certainly will next year.

Frankly I love the argument that Les should go because we should be so much better with all this talent we have. Guess what... Les Miles is why we have that talent.

Well said. I agree. It's time to support the team and quit griping so much. I don't think it's going to be a very good season, but it's OUR season to make the most of or tear down. The coaching situation will shake out, depending on the won-loss record. I don't like it, and I think we deserve better but this is the hand we've been dealt in 2010 and it's not going to change in the middle of the year.
