2. Who cares about a mostly meaningless conference tournament? The real champion is the regular-season champ, and Wade won one of those. The only time a conference tournament title matters is if you’re on the bubble or worse and need the auto NCAA bid that comes with it. In some cases, it’s better to lose early in the conference tournament to get some rest before the NCAA tournament.

We haven’t won one since 1980, so I can see why you’d resort to calling it meaningless. No one calls all the SEC baseball tournament championships LSU has won meaningless. Would I rather LSU make the Sweet Sixteen than win an SEC Tournament? Sure. But the fact we haven’t won one since 1980 is a detriment to the program.

Unfortunately, those are not valued as highly as conference tournament championships. You don’t get an automatic bid with a regular season title. Sure, if you win an SEC regular season title, you’re probably going to get into the NCAAT, but no one remembers regular season titles, but they do remember conference tournament championships because they’re nationally televised right before the start of the NCAAT, which is the peak of the college basketball season.

As the guy above said, “why don’t you guys shut up?” Wade was not only unethical he was arrogant.
When this thing first broke and the AD and President called him to come talk he refused to do so and lawyered up. Frankly I would have fired him then. If they had then this mess would have been 2-3 years in the rear view mirror and things might be a lot better now. You should fire the AD and President then. Wait a minute. They did. The new guys are getting the heat for firing Wade.
IMO Wade’s arrogance was what got him fired, not any violations.

Miller had little to do with the gun. It was not his gun. But what Miller did do was watch 2 so called friends take a gun from his car and go confront some people in another car while he waited on them. The result was that a girl was killed in the other car.
