This statement tells me that Miles truly believes that Lee is absolutely worse than JJ, and that all of this "he's improving" stuff is just coach speak to keep the kid from getting discouraged.
No one on this board sees every practice every week like the coaches do, so they're the most qualified to decide who's the better QB. It's just hard to imagine that Lee has been that much worse than JJ in practice to not warrant at least a chance to run this offense given JJ's recent play.

I assume you're basing this off 2008? The most recent JL appearances tell me that your post is dead wrong. In fact, Bama and La Tech laugh at your post.
Having said that, it's time to take one more look at Lee.

Then explain why the 3 passes he's thrown this year (2 officially) have all been on target, timely and completed. No drops, no incompletions, no good catches...just good passes and positive yards.

So your basing stuff off of last year... What about this year.. how bad jj has done.. shite people

Miles is nuts. Don't understand his logic. 3 and outs suck per our def. sake. Start Leeeeeeeee. See if he is the best man for the job.

I agree, he's looked pretty good, but I can find you 3 passes that JJ has thrown that look just as good as those. I think you need a little larger sample size before you start comparing JL to Peyton Manning :tongueincheek:
I'm not saying JJ should definitely remain the starter. I am saying that all of you expecting Lee to come in and start throwing for 300+ yards and 3 TDs per game are going to be disappointed. He might be better than JJ, he might not. No one knows. Like I said above though, I think it's time to find out.

Nobody thinks that and nobody has ever said that.. Also we dont need that.. We need somebody to throw for at least 100 yards and at least 1 td

So why did he replace Lee with Jefferson in the first place?
I think it was all about keep Jefferson from hearing the boos...nothing about Jarrett Lee.

This has to be either one of the most dishonest Miles comments I've ever read, or Miles really is kin to rocks.
Posted on 9/28/10 at 4:55 pm to Lsutim3
Actually, what I heard Miles say was that JJ wouldn't necessarily have to be playing poorly for JL to see the field because JL has earned the time.

Only logic I see in this is if it's followed by the statement "you make a change because you think the other option will be an improvement." Maybe he's convinced that isn't the case?

By "poor" does he mean bottom %5 in the whole nation???

Who said anything about logical? We're talking about Leslie's comments.

Miles is thinking he' ll take a chance on a poor stat ,but safe QB rather than a potentially fair stat, but known game killer QB,Lee could not manage his pick 6 image in the spring game, that was bad for him.

You don't make a change just because the other guy is playing poor
This is what Miles said per tigerbait.com...
This is the most ridiculous statement i have ever heard imo... Why would you not sit a guy thats playing poorly...
Because if people at LSU get the idea that poor performance should cost someone his job, Jefferson might not be the one he's most worried about.

Jefferson is a known game killer, too. His poor play was a factor in our losses last year.
The bottom line is the whole offense is a complete disaster, and everybody knows why. Miles is too stubborn and stupid to fix it.

Miles didn't sit lee when he played like shite in 08. He isn't going to bench jj. I still think lee will see more snaps against Tennessee. They are vandy bad this year.

i know its more fun to paraphrase one part and spin it so Miles looks dumb, but he was complimenting Lee.
(when asked about Lee playing more)
“Frankly, it’s getting closer and closer, and we like him,” Miles said. “It’s never going to be necessarily the fact that the other guy is just doing poorly. It’s with the compliment of the efforts that Jarrett Lee has. He’s worked hard at it. He has continued to compete and continues to improve, so my job is looking for opportunities to get him on the field.”
ie - Lee wont get in simply because Jordan is playing poorly if he wouldn't be any better, but he's worked hard and improved and even if Jordan is playing well, Lee could start.
its a compliment. oh and I bet everyone who just insulted him will be lining up to apologize.

I think JL is a starter. I dont care about him throwing Pick 6's. He moves the ball and will at least keep opposing D's honest.
My oh my. I'll remember you said that.
