he is curley fricking hallman. He cannot coach. ja morant made him like brett favre made hallman.
remember that fan in 1994 that went to practice one day and they showed it on channel 9 WAFB sports that night.....and straight up told him:
" you can't coach curley"
This is the same situation just a different sport.

Wade could win, he is a basketball God. He is the greatest most intelligent and innovative coach in the history of the game.

I'm not a McMan, though I have been accused of being one because I tend to try not to be negative towards the coach of any LSU team until they have a bit of a track record here. But now he has one and it does not look good for him. Perhaps if you had said "You can't only blame McMahon" more folks would agree with you.
I also don't think he is a bad coach, just not really ready for this level of competition, and maybe never will be.
The team has been competitive late in games with teams with more talent but can never get over that hump. There were a few games this season where they were winning or very close late only to drop the game and in some cases get blown out. Those were all winnable games at the point where things started slipping away, those were where he could have bolstered his image for fans. He did not. A lot of the problems were player execution but there were certainly some coaching mistakes there as well. Part of coaching is knowing when to call a timeout to get your player's heads out of a bad place, that rarely seems to happen.
Nil will help and he may make a stunning transition to a very good coach but I am not holding my breath. I honestly think part of the increasing NIL promises are in conjunction with the idea we want to show perspective replacements that LSU and LSU fans are serious about supporting MBB going forward. So if MM falls on his face again next season, as many expect, the refrain can not be he was never given a chance because LSU is not serious about MBB. At least that is my hope, barring a McMiracle.

First of all, I want to say that LSU looks like a poorly coached team most of the time. But if this is guy has a 1.5 million dollar budget, and Bama and Auburn have 20 million dollar budgets, what do you expect?

I’m a season ticket holder and seriously considering giving them up.
That's the only thing they might listen to. Anyone who continues to invest in this program, even if it's buying tickets to a single game, is doing it a disservice until a meaningful change is made.

They might do a little better with a higher NIL budget, but what can you point to that McMahon brings to the table as far as a coaching edge goes? I've been rooting for him, but I just don't see his coaching giving the players we do have any kind of edge on game day.

People are confusing football NIL to basketball NIL. Basketball NIL's are probably closer to 75% less than the football team.

i believe ohio state was the reported high number for football at 20 mill this year. i think arkansas basketball is the high for basketball, probably half that at the very most.

You obviously can blame McMahon for the points of this season that we have been poorly coached, but you are absolutely correct that there's next to nothing he can do about the talent disparity. Hopefully a "bigger budget" closes the gap a considerable amount. If we pull in a transfer portal class to the level that we've just done in football, we'll have pretty damn good roster at the absolute minimum.
