And again the NC was simply a mathematic fluke or weren't you watching any of the games that year? LSU won and we deserved it for winning but the road travelled to get there was simply a complete stroke of luck and a BCS system that has been broken for years.

There has always been something about Les that most of us could not understand. We gave him the benefit of the doubt because he was winning even if some of his reckleesness was embarassing. Talent does and always will have a lot to do with winning and we all know the kind of talent Les has enjoyed from day one. But, it appears our gut feeling about this guy may have been correct all along. We all gave him a chance even when we couldnt understand him(yankee). Looks like we should have listened to our gut feeling. Time to cut bait.

How can you fire a HC who won the NC two seasons ago? ESPECIALLY when the two seasons following the NC win were BOTH winning seasons and bowl game appearances?

He's had alot of luck in 07', I was stunned that we went to the NC and we played against Ohio St, what did he have to do. Ever since 07' he has slipped and not produce, We had luck against Tenn in the SECCG, This is not good coaching you have to be a lucky SOB to win these games.

I stood with him til this shite last night, and where were all of ya'll arse last night when we were talking about this

Just like you can't fire a BB coach who just went to the Final Four a few years ago?

The Miles hatred was already approaching Brady levels and this game may have tipped the scales.

He's as good as gone - two years max.

It's a serious question. There have to be very, very good reasons to shite-can a coach only two seasons after winning a NC, especially when he wins bowl games and has winning seasons during other seasons.

I'm not ranting. Others are. I'm simply encouraging people to think through their rants.

The question will be posed by others besides me: How do you fire a NC two seasons removed from winning the NC?

right NOW we are:
1. Slipping in terms of relevance both in our conference and nationally
2. Losing to teams such as Ole Miss CONSISTENTLY
3. Have one of the worst offenses in the nation and dead last in the SEC
4. Game management is getting worse and worse

As for recruiting we are still recruiting well so that's a big bright spot. Unfortunately you can spin the fact another way...with all this talent why are we so terrible on game day???? I have my answer but won't say it, i'll leave that question open for responses.

SEC wins since 2007:
Auburn
Miss St
South Carolina
Vanderbilt
Miss St
Georgia
Auburn

SEC losses since 2007:
Florida
Georgia
Alabama
Ole Miss
Arkansas
Florida
Alabama
Ole Miss

You definitely should demand answers from a guy making $4MM/year.

2009 is not yet over.

LSU could beat Arky at home and win the bowl game.
That's 10 and 3 !!!

Mightn't it be more prudent to call for Les Miles's head AFTER the season?

Not only a mathematical fluke but stop and think how we lost the 2 games that year and remember to 2 mediocre teams in Ky and Ark. The ky game, Charles Scott is running all over Ky in the first half. He never touches the ball again until overtime. The Ark game. Cant stop the Famous Houston Nutt Wild cat formation when you know what they are going to do. no sir , we live in a what have you done for me lately. Any CEO who is paid 3 to 4 million a year would be fired from their position if they made bonehead decisions like we made last night.

Got damn Champagne are you fricking stupid? I've answered it two times already. The NC was a fluke plain and simple. Did we win the game? Yes Did we deserve the title for winning? Yes

The 2007 NC was simply because of a broken BCS system. The two seasons since then have been crappy. Here are your answers.

Help me to understand. Please speak freely. You are among friends.

The LSU NC in 2007 was a fluke and undeserved?

The 2008 season was crappy?

The 2009 season was crappy?

The 2009 season is not yet complete, but, it is already known to be crappy?

Yes to all of the above?

2007: NC
2008: winning season; won bowl game
2009: definitely winning season

Many folks may define these three seasons as pretty good, rather than shite-can material.

bump

I am shocked at the radical change of heart in the LSU fanbase after only one game.

Is Coach Miles different today than he was on Friday?

LSU was lucky to back into the MNC two years ago. As I recall, it took two miracle upsets to get us in.

you have all valid points but we also backed into the championship game in 2003 as well. We needed 3 games to go our way to. Don't use the NC as an example because 2003 was just as lucky to be there

Champagne let me ask you a question and please be honest.

If you are the owner of a company and go out and hire a guy and eventually raise him for $4 million a year to maintain a strong profit margin that his predecessor upheld - and the guy has one lucky year and four pretty good ones riddled with mistakes and boneheaded decisions that if laid out on an x/y axis would indicate a steady negative slope, what are you thinking? Especially after a boneheaded mistake that costs you a big contract...

And add to that list of downward trend recruiting because LSU is going to take a huge hit. And if you think for one second we are going to beat Arkansas on Saturday, you might want to start mixing your drinks now.

When you win 2 national championships and recruit well every year, just having a winning season isnt good enough. I know thats spoiled of me to say, but thats a championship state of mind. When the yankees dont go to the ws, people are outraged. They dont just settle for a winning season. That being said LSU cant fire Les because of the perception implications. See Frank Solich at Nebraska. We can only hope that Michigan or ND could take him off of our hands but thats unlikely.

So you are content being 7-8 in the SEC over the past 2 seasons and watching the team underperform every week?
