If it was just failed pot tests and take him back today and tell him to go to the bars and drink instead.

Yep. And Miles should have another high profile athlete come talk to the team about how pot will destroy everything. I'm thinking Phelps.

I was agreeing with him that a USC's fans opinion around here basically is of no use.

More childish name calling from you. Typical. Pathetic.

At least you dry kids off after you Jerry Sandusky them in the showers to make sure they don't get a cold.

1. Random drug testing during the time he is off the team till he leaves for the nfl or finishes his college career

2. In his spare time talk to baton rouge schools on education on not doing drugs. Similar to community service.

3. Keep grades in order.

If he did that then I would take him back.

1st (and likely only) condition: absolutely no breaches of any team rules for the next year. He needs to learn priorities and delayed gratification. If he cannot learn to put off his immediate desire for satisfaction in return for a bigger reward later, then I would never feel comfortable trusting him with the responsibilities of representing my team.

If, on the other hand, he does show that he can do that then I would let him come back and be on the same footing as the rest of the team. I would not want to bring him back on any kind of special probation/waiting for him to fail kind of conditions. He's going to be out for a year anyway; use that year to decide to trust him again or cut him loose.

I was always bothered by the Bob Knight "any tiny slip and you are kicked out" situation. I'd take that approach while he's trying to earn his way back, but once that time is done I'd either take him all the way back or not at all.

1. Vote of seniors and juniors (since seniors won't be around for next season)

2. WEEKLY drug screenings until he leaves LSU

3. Focus his community involvement on illegal substances and showing kids how he almost pissed it away and is making most of his last chance.

it is not a democracy so I wouldn't consider #1

Ideas 2 and 3 seem solid though. I'd love to have TM7 back but it can't be some joke where he gets to do whatever he wants. He would really only be getting a fourth chance because he is a special athlete and had to sit out for a year.

I find it hard to believe he will be able to stay in school and stay academically eligible during his year of suspension though. I'd think the NCAA rules on those issues would be real hurdles if he can't afford to pay for school on his own.

Senior vote? Get real. Les Miles gets paid $4 million dollars a year to make these decisions. He's made. Its over. It sucks, but it's better for all parties if he moves on. If this temporary suspension were an option it should have been discussed behind closed doors before we had a press conference announcing his dismissal.

I think it was, hence Miles saying that he didn't think that was something Tyrann was willing to do in the presser. I think TM had an initial knee jerk reaction, and said he wanted to leave. Now after looking around it seems he's given more thought to the possibility of coming back.

Dillon Baxter says no. He was sent packing earlier than TM 7 for the ganja. Much earlier.

except he was not kicked off the team

he also lied to their compliance office about contact from other teams. That is WAY more serious IMO

Not true. Your thread was bumped right after I made that post. It stated something along the lines of CLM maybe skipping step 3 and just kicking him off the team and/or giving him more chances than the 4. Either way it was made obvious that you would call in to question CLM decision one way or the other since in this thread you are stating he can't allow him back on the team.

No. My point in that thread was TM got more than the allotted chances. Miles finally had enough and made the right move. I know what I wrote and it's intention.

A friend had to call every day when he was in drug court to hear his color. This should be the same. Have him call Miles, athletic dept, whomever every morning between 8:00am-8:10am. If it is gold, go about your business. If he gets told purple, drug test done by 9am. This forces him to wake early and not sleep late. Also, no football practice means more time for school. Must maintain a 3.0 gpa for fall and spring. At LSU, you have unlimited amount of tutors that can provide him help. Miles should make sure he is VERY busy with school and studying that going out every night isn't possible. If he maintains a 3.5 gpa in the fall, he can go through spring football. If only 3.0, then he must do 3.0 again to earn spot on team in fall. Saturday's is normally game day for him. So, every Saturday morning, community service in the sun. Drug counciling 3 nights a week then 2 nights, finally once a week by the time next summer gets here. No social media except Facebook. A fan page on Facebook for fans and teammates to encourage him could be good. Finally, both his feet will touch EVERY STEP in tiger stadium. Tell him he has to mentally (school) and physically climb the mountain he created.

So if he only committed 3 offenses why shouldn't he be allowed to comeback?

If the decision was based on TM not wanting to sit out a year and after a few days of reflection TM decides he wants to take his punishment why is that a problem?
