Good god, everyone watches 5 minutes of practice footage and suddenly they all know who the best QB is. Each of them showed off some of their strengths in that video.

Im going with this.

However, my non official, way too early, amateur observation based solely on this video equates to this:
1. Rettig
2. Harris
3. Jennings or the other guy.

Rettig doesnt have the long ball down as good as the others, but his short/mid stuff seemed better than everyone else.

I'm much more interested in who looks the most consistent when there are 3-7 defenders bearing down on the QB's arse.

* - I know it's pun-worthy, but I didn't intend that at all.

So it's only a couple of days into Spring training which means very little, but I really like Rettig. Again, as early as it is, I like his mechanics. He fires the ball out keeping his stance and maintaining balance.

I have no personal favorites. I just want the guy with the best opportunity to win. I hate AJ's mechanics. It can be corrected, but I just don't like it. He's slow on his release. BH can sling the ball, but he overthrows and doesn't quite have the accuracy. A lot of his throws would be a CB, but because he doesn't follow the route, a safety would be there hunting.

Not that you can tell who will win now, but I like Rettig's chances. He's really improved. Sharp. And definitely has the motivation.

Excited for the season.

Rettig is mobile. To an extent.

For those that saw his HS videos, he played in the spread and had a poor line. Rettig has probably more experience winging it and he is much more mobile than Mett was but not as much as AJ or BH. I remember seeing a pass he threw 60 yds in the air for a TD... just sayin.

I could give a frogs fat arse who the QB is as long as they get out there and make plays. This is the tightest race we've had since the Randall, JRuss, and Flynn days and I'm a fan. It should really make the coaches work, and the players push each each other for some high level practices.

It looks to me like Jennings really does have completion /accuracy issues just like it was stated on a premium board end of last year

45% practice completion rates with OBJ and Landry catching... YIKES!

No wonder the bowl game looked like it did.

Jennings better put the work in because someone out of that bunch has got be better than 45%

We still can't throw a long ball

All of the qbs look like they are where they need to be at this stage of their collegiate career. Very rusty, but all three look like they could be starting qbs for lsu going into the future which is a good problem to have.

Jake Clise the guy who I don't know who he is actually looked best in that video. Look at the placement on his throws.

Most of Harris's long balls would've been picked off unless the receiver was wide open. He throws them inside and not to the outside where only the receiver can get it. Inside = CB or Safety picking it off over the top.

Reminds me somewhat of Zack's throw at the end of the Clemson game. How long had Zack been playing college ball? QB's make bad throws.

It's amazing how much some want to read into a 3-5 minute video of a two hour practice.
