That takes more work. :lazy:

But, either way, it doesn't change the fact that being a National Seed is some kind of must-have. In fact, one reason that it hasn't been critical might very well be just that -- non-National Seeds sometimes get to host unexpectedly.

I get your point but it is all about the fans getting more home games.

Has absolutely nothing to do with LSU being a national seed or not.

Has anyone said that on this board these last few weeks? Anyone?

I've upset you. I can see that. Would it help if I gave a trigger warning before I make valid arguments?

Not clamoring to fire anyone ( yet) just stating the simple fact that being a national seed hasn't helped us recently. People worry to much about it to much. If LSU is hot I don't care where we play. If we shoot out wad winning the SEC tournament and then lose to Houston at home in the regional what good did that national seed we strived so hard to get do us ?

Wow ...seriously? Clue: One only has to look in this thread.

Alt: Well, seeing as how LSU has never reached the CWS (since the super regional format was instituted) without hosting a super regional, I'd say it's pretty important for LSU to get a national seed.

ell_13: How many times has LSU made it to Omaha without hosting a super regional in the super regional era? I'll hang up and listen...

Nuts4LSU: How many non-National Seed LSU teams have made it to Omaha ever?

How is that a fact? That assumes we would have done worse had we traveled for a regional or super. What if playing away meant we didn't even make it out of regionals every year?

People pay attention to it here because, well, everyone is. The team. The coaches. The analysts. Winning the SEC and getting a National Seed is what people talk about this time of year. That's not new. So the talk is "how do we get it". Because it's something everyone wants. Are you saying you don't want it? Or that people should want it less? WTF ARE YOU SAYING?!?

So "it's important" now equates to "must-have"? Using past years to prove how important it is means "must-have"? Do you know what "must-have" means clamdip?

Why is this mutually exclusive?

Because people somehow think that winning these games now will take away too much "mental energy" (what the frick does that even mean when talking about a baseball game) and will cause us to lose a regional or super regional that we host.

Can we get board definitions on the following:

important
less important
more important
not important

And can we send these the Moscona?

TIA

This is just plain stupidity to wish for this....I won't even call it ignorance, because you have to know better. You are just flat out stupid.

I'm of the opinion, btw, that LSU has burned a lot of mental energy in recent years making a late charge to get a national seed, only to then look less than sharp in the NCAAT
It's just fan perception, imo.
Many seasons LSU tends to gel late, then they run into some good teams in the tourney, just like a lot of other teams that didn't make it far as their fans would like, not some myth they expend all their mental energy on late charges.
+
This is a different: year, team, opponents, even a different baseball than most of the past tourneys, so who knows what to expect.

I want LSU to get a national seed. Just trying to point out how silly it is to think that will make or break LSU's chances.
The Box is a factor in NCAAT, but also I think having/not having the "precious" nat seed and hosting are more symptom of ability, than cause of NCAAT success.
Of course LSU hasn't done well not hosting as they weren't really good enough to host, what did we expect?
It would take a miracle turnaround of a bad season to make this false.

It has already helped this year. We have one series loss at home: A&M. We have two series wins on the road: Arkansas and Bama. So 7-1 vs 2-2. I'll take the 7-1 please.

Hell yeah it is.

Guillot will get the crowd on their feet, more so than normal.

The K Lady will have a little more pep in her step.

The clapper will be clapping non stop...and louder.

The ball 5 guy will be yelling it for every single ball.

It's a serious advantage having those 4 fans in our corner.

Oh...and Mulkey will be there. We can't forget about Mulkey. (She's Kramer's mom btw...in case any of you missed that).

What makes you think it'd be a better outcome on the road?
