Yes on the surface, the problem is Nuss but…

I was told by a guy who would know that he has a knee injury and a torso injury. He’s not well. Kelly should have put Van Buren in. But the overall problem is Kelly. Outside of hiring Curly Hallman, he’s one of the worst mistakes in LSU football history. He is arrogant, WAY over-rated and stubborn.

Yeah Nuss is the problem.

It's Garrett fault that we couldn't protect vs a 3 man rush. It's Garrett's fault that we ran the ball 9 times in the first half vs the #120 rush defense in the country.

It's Garrett's fault that we ran for 50 yards total and our long of 10 came in a 3rd and 20 on a draw.

Garrett's the one who called the dumbest 2 point conversion I've ever seen.

Garrett played poorly but he is not the problem. He obviously has something wrong with him and the deep ball and the zip are struggling because of it but Garrett Nussmeier is not the reason this team doesn't have legitimate title ability.

It's the offensive line and play calling

His play is part of the problem, and his passes look significantly worse than they did last season.

The problem is if they put Van Buren in they risk him getting hurt and nuss coming back in.

You don’t think his injuries contribute to that?

More than one thing can be true at the same time. Nuss is not himself and I believe he would be the first to admit that. If he's still not healthy in two weeks, it would be coaching malpractice to continue as we have been in recent weeks. MVB needs packages or playing time to see if he can spark this anemic offense. My problem is with the OL and scheme. Brad Davis can't teach or develop. His time is up. Sloan should be coaching for his job the rest of the way. You either produce or GTFO.

I do think so. Still, that makes him part of the problem. Not his fault, necessarily, but part.

The Rant won't be able to comprehend 95% of this.

He’s making bad throws and underthrows even when not under pressure. He’s under throwing wide open receivers deep and putting inside where the db can make a play. He’s throwing into triple coverage when there are open receivers.

Yes there are other problems (OL beinf a huge one) but there were plenty of plays to be had and Nuss wasn’t close. Even his td pass was thrown horribly and we got lucky.

And Nussmeier.

They’re all related. How easy is it to call plays with the OL problems and a QB who still makes freshman mistakes and is playing injured on top of it?

Regardless of the blocking and running issues Nuss is the problem. There are passing plays to be made but he isn’t making them. There are runs to be made but he isn’t running. There is something wrong. He has taken a huge step backwards. He’s always thrown interceptions but his accuracy has never been this bad. You can see most of his passes La k that zip. Last year he made pro level passes. Not able to do it this year.

I’m no fan of his but this is a really stupid take.
