I’m a huge LSU fan but I agree completely with this. It’s Obscene, sickening and frankly immoral for so much money to be thrown around for boys to play a game and men to coach them. There are so many serious needs in our society in general and in LA and BR that go unmet.
College football is a business. The money gets spent there because the money gets made there. Yes there are plenty of issues in LA and BR, that we PAY TAXES FOR. It's not their fault that local govt is stealing your money.
It's a self inflicted issue.

Whoever is donating it should instead be doing public works projects with the money, revitalizing neighborhoods and selling the homes cheaply to hardworking young families, sponsoring families, etc I will admit Louisiana needs a lot of work and the fact so much is spent on LSU football is absurd.

And just think of the 40 BILLION dollars Trump gave to Argentina instead of investing in its own citizens.

public works projects
Which I already pay an assload of taxes for.
You want Todd Graves to subsidize housing? The shysters make good money partially as a result of our substandard roads, they certainly aren’t paying to fix them.
As Loren Scott often says, Louisiana doesn’t have a revenue problem, Louisiana has a spending problem. Add in the grifting, nepotism, and administrative bloat, they don’t need more of our money, they need to be better stewards.

OK communist. Don't tell other people how to spend their money.

Ok Kenzell. It’s more like he happened to be here when it happened.

He cried and blamed his ineptitude on a lack of NIL money. Then, when he received enough to $ to make a difference, what did he do with it? He built nothing but dissension.

You guys always become emotional and go overboard when you decide that you hate a coach or a player.
It’s ok to give Brian Kelly and Scott Woodward credit for having us in a better NIL position than almost every other school in college sports.
You don’t have to blindly deny any and all of their accomplishments even if the last few football seasons didn’t go exactly how we hoped.

This is a false dichotomy. If they wanted to do that, they would be doing so as well. And no longer donating to LSU football would usually mean that those rich people have more money for themselves - not more money to give away.

Take that shite to the poly board , it was a currency exchange that the UsA made money on. Do some research.

Louisiana can’t afford for LSU football to be bad. It floats the whole state. It’s an investment not a luxury.

$15 million of the $25 million comes from House settlement money. This is the first year that money has been available and it is paid for from the school’s budget.
The $10 million on top is what LSU’s donors are committing to.
Two years ago LSU had maybe $6 or 7 million for its entire roster. So you’re talking about a few million a year in new donor money.
