We'll take him back. Sounds like he will fit in and talks like us.

Zay is not a head case, he is currently taken care of his 2 younger brothers and has been since he graduated high school. Is Zay perfect, no, I am not saying that. I am saying there are alot of factors to this. One being him and a teammate arguing over a girl. Zay has voiced his opinion about the current QB and I believe the head coach got really pissed about that.

That coach brought that QB over with him. So of all the people to take on the QB is probably the worst decision. If he is responsible for his siblings then he probably shouldn't be getting in the doghouse with the team over a girl. I mean that is another knock on him. I get it he might not be knocking off liquor stores or getting shot doing a drug deal but these mistakes seem pretty self inflicted.

Have no idea what kind of kid he is, but let’s be honest, Auburn didn’t kick an all SEC player off the team in the middle of the season without a pretty good reason.

That part.

I cant give out to many specifics, but lets just say the coaching staff treated him differently. For example an Auburn player was arrested for running from the cops the week before Zay was suspended for the Georgia game. Did that player get suspended? NOPE.

Dude nothing in this ramble shows him in a better light. It sounds like you're somebody close to him and you're grasping at straws to convince us (or yourself) that he's not the problem.

He was very good for Auburn and I'm glad we don't have to play him, but I hope he figures it out and does well in life/football.

When you play the moral relativism game to justify your poor behavior by pointing out “him too” you are neglecting to take proper accountability for your actions.

Focus on you and what you can control.

So far, Atkins has had issues at Jonesboro, LSU, now Auburn. At some point if it is not working out anywhere it’s time to look in the mirror vs a portal the grass is greener solution.

You’ll never reach your goals going through life as the consummate victim.

Auburn fans are saying he was late to team meetings and practices, loafed in practices, fought with teammates a lot, and snapped back at coaches trying to coach him. His teammates asked the coaches to suspend him and while suspended he didn't do the things asked of him to be reinstated.

He was a lot more productive than Denver was on the field. He was a beast last year.

Yep. Just beat the #1 team on the road. Not out of the playoff picture. Golesh must've had no other option.

This makes two staffs and two programs he's become disgruntled with.

Not to totally discredit you, but with you being close to him, you might have some bias. It’s also possible that you are not hearing the full story either.

I’m not discrediting your post RoyBoy, but my thoughts after reading this is that young kids have no personal accountability these days. All SEC players aren’t kicked off of their team because they are treated unfairly.

With that said, I wish Atkins all the best and hope he has a successful future.
I believe he had already told them he was going to go to the transfer portal before they kicked him off the team. Some of yall think when it comes to coaches vs players, that coaches are always right or always do the right thing with them. That is CLEARLY not the case and some coaches do have biases. Not saying that is happening here, just putting that out there.

I'm also not saying he didn't do wrong and immature arse shite. Many pros have said in interviews "they had to grow up". However lett's not act like personal accountability wasn't always a problem in soceity. There are always kids like that and there always will be. Hell look at the adults of today and personal accountability. Terrible role models.

Hopefully he recognizes his faults early. I'm not like a lot of people here that just cast players aside because they aren't perfect and robotic and meet some standard maturely that the vast majority of this board didn't meet at that age.

Like I was saying.... He doesn't need to play anywhere until he grows up and acts like a football player instead of a 12 year old. All teams should agree to not accept the transfer. That's the only way to teach him, if he is even teachable
