You don’t know what the frick you’re talking about. Every single lsu reporter will tell you that LSU did not seek Daniels out.

My point is JD was always gonna be the starter. The competition was a facade so Nuss would not transfer this year anyway and leave us with possibly Brennan and Howard as the backups
You have no idea what’s occurred in the closed practices or in film sessions. You don’t know what conversations have taken place between the coaching staff and the players. You just want to have something to complain about because “your guy” isn’t the starter.

quote:players want to play. The bad thing about QB is there can only be one. Not like WR or RB where there are multiple spots.
Even if he 100% knows he won't be at LSU next year, it still behooves him to stay at LSU and hopefully get some playing to to showcase his ability.
So I don't blame ANY QB, at any school, for transferring so they have a better chance for playing time. Hell, Baker Mayfield transferred, and won the Heisman. Kyler Murray too. Joe Burrow too.
College eligibility goes by in a flash. Nothing wrong with a player going to a place where they can actually play, rather than holding a clipboard.

Jordan Jefferson must have passed along the incriminating photos of Les Miles to Daniels. And then Daniels had Kelly's head photoshopped over Miles'. It all makes sense.

We are in trouble. One read, run, inaccurate pass on 3rd down is the Les Miles offense prior to Jarrett Lee. Then it was just run. Nothing I have seen from that guy Daniels tells me he can beat UGA or Bama.
From all accounts Nuss had a way better spring than JD. So why is JD taking most of the first teams as basically fall camp start.

What?
We were 12th national in 3rd down% in 2007 and 8th in 2006. What do you mean “prior to Jarrett Lee?”

All time year for the rant coming up

Hope he’s better than he was in the spring game, where he was easily the worst of the 4 QBs

6-6 If we are lucky.

I understand it's Kelly's team and he knows more than me and all that but something just doesn't sit right. All 3 guys definitely didn't get the same chance like it was said they would. Myles never got first team reps at all. Kelly said if Nuss had been healthy he would have gotten first team reps during the scrimmage so he never got the chance, I'd understand if they waited two days, played the scrimmage on Wednesday, weighed those results, then made a decision. This "QB competition" just doesn't seem to have really been a competition, seems predetermined. Right or wrong, idk, but it wasn't really a competition

If the coach knows who the starter should be why waste the reps?

Exactly. Pages and pages of comments based off of hearsay. Its not even time to name a starter. Nuss has been injured for a little bit and the team has multiple scrimmages coming up. And we are still nearly 3 weeks from Florida state. Realistically won't be game planning with starter for 2 weeks. I do trust the staff will make right decision. It's likely no one will get good inside info on what's going on at practice until people's tart building trusting relationships with the new staff

quote:all 4 QBs have been through spring practice and now part of fall camp. The coaches have seen enough to know who can do what. All QBs can't get equal reps with the first team. Football's not a socialist endeavor -- there's limited practice time, and the best QBs get the most reps. It's the way it has to be, and should be.

Did you say the same thing about Burrow circa 2018 ?
