when was it great? last check 1950's circa, chinese bandits, oh yeah, Saban turned LSU into a national powerhouse that recruits great players to this day because of it's name now, you guys can act like he didn't do it, whatever.

Sonnyboy, LSU was nationally ranked and had top players and top 20 teams until the late 80s and early 90s. Dinardo brought winning teams back to LSU and then had a complete meltdown for 2 seasons. Saban won with Dinardo's players(just using you and the other saban homo's logic) and did great things for LSU. Too bad he was a jackass personally and showed zero loyalty to LSU.
nick the midget is Miles bitch and so are all of you who line up to give the midget smokers.

About 20 of the coaches ahead of Miles have never even appeared in a national championship game, let alone win one.

HAHAHA at 14. Tom O'Brien, N.C. State. He's a throwback coach who wins with toughness, discipline and lots of smarts.

and

11. Rich Rodriguez, Michigan. Not only has he won big, RichRod has helped change the sport with his offense.

Ridiculous. Absolutely insane. Someone should show this to the team. Then they can go out and prove their coach.

So he is "handsdown" a worse coach than a guy who won less than he did (even after getting the elite talent and building the program), but your not trying to take away from his accomplishments?
I love how people see what they wanna see and take and interpret shite in a totally skewed way so you take what I said about Saban being the better coach which he is and say I'm callin Miles a terrible coach, ok genius, and another thing is I like how people come up with the he lost more games than Miles when he recruited the elite talent argument, when clearly the man was in full rebuilding mode when most of the losses came and did not have nowhere near the kind of talent he had later on in his final years with LSU when he won a NC and left it in great shape. but I'm being irrational and callin Miles a terrible coach.

10. Mark Richt, Georgia. His résumé only lacks a national title. And you know one is coming.

No, we don't. He'll be lucky to have 1 chance in the next 5-10 years as good as he did last year.

Where did I say you called Miles a terrible coach? Speaking of skewed interpretations and seeing what you want to see . . . .
quote:

when clearly the man was in full rebuilding mode when most of the losses came
How does that excuse the losses? Was Miles not in "rebuilding mode" for the 5 losses this year? How is it that Saban gets a pass for losses in 2004 for "rebuilding", but Miles doesn't?
quote:

and did not have nowhere near the kind of talent he had later on in his final years with LSU when he won a NC and left it in great shape
So only 2003 and 2004 count? Okay, so 22-4 those two years is a winning percentage of 84.6%. Miles over the next three years was 34-6, a winning percentage of 85%. 85 > 84.6. Miles sustained three years of winning at a better clip than Saban could manage with the elite talent that he accumulated. And yet, somehow, you call Saban "hands down" a better coach and don't believe that is taking away from his accomplishments? He accomplished more with Saban's talent than Saban did. How is calling him "hands down" worse not taking away from that?

2000-2004 (Saban's "powerhouse/consistent top 10 ranking" tenure): 5 years, 2 top 10 rankings

1969-1973: 5 years, 4 top 10 rankings

1984-1988: 5 years, 2 SEC Championships*, 2 top 10 rankings

(+1 more #1 finish with a "vacated" title due to UF's probation)

if your sayin Miles is a better coach than Saban than "handsdown" you are a idiot, I'm not going to get into a debate, and post stats back and forth, but just the fact that you think he is a better coach than Saban tells me a lot about you, the whole reason this thread was started was because of Miles' placement on this list which I agree is wrong, and he should be ranked higer than that, but not the absurdity your suggesting.
