you want to be insulting and petty, I get it. still waiting for evidence. its a bad season, you don't need to read your personal pet issue of being anti-analytics into it.
It’s unfortunate that you got your feeling hurt but here is how I know you have no idea what you are talking about. Moneyball had nothing to do with the analytics you are referencing. It had to do with ERA and pitching efficiency, not how hard a kid throws. It had to do with OBP and walks and slugging %, not exit velocity and launch angle and “expected batting average”.
We took everything great about baseball and the analytic that go along with it and completely convoluted it.

absolutely correct. If LSU wasn't preseason ranked #1 in the nation, but say 25th and expecting a rebuilding year, I don't think the disappointment in the team's play and coaching decisions this year would have been so disappointing.
It is not LSU's fault they were ranked so high, but much of that came from our staff promoting players that clearly didn't deserve any promotion.
That is the only time I'm disappointed in an LSU team of any sport is when they so severely underperform from the expectations that LSU has promoted.
This baseball team from top to bottom was a major major disappointment but most of that was because of the preseason expectation hype. I surely do hope the same thing doesn't happen again to our football team next year.
This past year of sports has been disastrous for LSU brand.

This group is made up of a bunch of recruits who are of the "I and me" concept... there's never been any player leadership that I witnessed, to bring the players together, and no rah rah bench that I see in most all other teams. Could be partly because JJ sits proven leaders from past teams like Josh P. I blame a lot of the lack of player cohesiveness on JJ.

this is a rhetorical trick simpletons use thinking it makes people defensive. please try to focus on the topic.

correct, like I said it was about people like you who didn't use analytics at all, just, as I said, nebulous nonsense.
you said:
quote:
This is what happens when you chase exit velocity and fastball velocity as opposed to kids who can actually play baseball. It’s embarrassing the amount of money (NIL) we spend and have kids who can’t pitch and hit
players who can pitch and hit based on what? which stats? exit velo and fastball velo are important. if you measure this stuff you can tell who is good at baseball. who is barreling up balls, who is powerful enough to strike people out.
again, you just made up that the coaches and staff ignored "who can pitch and hit" you just made it up. completely out of nothing.

Yes, there should be something in the NIL deal that states if you suck, you don't get paid as much or some kind of performance requirements. If I suck at my job, I get fired.

Sure thing…or you are just upset I didn’t apologize that you got your feelings hurt.

Even Jay admitted they focused on the wrong analytics when they built the team this year in their lost to A&M but you keep focusing on things that dont make you a good baseball player.

the "you didn't play sports like I have bro" argument is an evergreen sports forum idiot's claim. as are overreactions to losses or bad seasons, and claims women's teams can beat men who are having a bad year.

Man, if you can’t admit this was an abject failure by this coaching staff…and yes, it’s very embarrassing.
Then get your resume together and send it in demanding you be named head coach! I thought not. LSU has lofty exprctations as is. CJJ'S biggest sin was winning 2 in 3 years. Now Billy Bleachers who buys 1-2 tickets to a mid week game each year wants 4 in a row. Was this year disappointing for fans? Absolutely. It was even more disappointing to the players and coaches who have far more invested than any fan. If you can't deal with a little disappointment you better stop watching sports.
