I know the money is outrageous but when you look at the risks he comes with as a coach it’s less worrisome

Too expensive; if that ended up being the asking price for Jimbo at LSU then I can’t really fault Alleva for passing on him, much as I hate our AD. It doesn’t excuse Ed O because there were cheaper options that could have been explored but 75 million is a lot for anyone whose name isn’t Nick Saban

No coach is locked up into anything if he is winning games worth this money. If he would start winning like Bama does every year or two he would have that contact renewed, or could lose him to another school but at that point it's proven he's a winner so you would be crazy not to pay him more.

On the flip side, if he is average, you just paid Elite money for average, LMFAO. That's why LSU didn't get him, he wanted top dollar while only being worth what Miles was, if that. You never know how these coaching changes work out, depends on the attitude of the team about the hire. If they don't want to play for him then he could struggle no matter what, until he gets his own players in the program.

Dabo did it, and if he can at Clemson, then O can here at LSU period. Once LSU gets its offense in order with a great QB then you will see the rise of LSU. We have a good staff. I don't give a darn what people say, it's apparent to me. He might have to learn a few things here or there but he's not scared to make changes to right the ship if he sees it going off course.

Id be ok with it. As much money as football makes, you can't afford NOT to have an elite coach. Also by the end of that contract 7.5 will be chump change compared to what other coaches are signing for.
And when you poach a coach from a top program it puts everybody on notice that you are serious about winning. Not that we are cheapos.the cheapo approach got us Archer and Hallman.

No unless the boosters would be willing to pay the buyout. I would have countered with more money per year and less years.

No. I would not want LSU to hire anyone for ten years.

No. With the Sumlin buyout, added salaries of assistants, if he doesn’t field a championship team, what’s next? Spend more money?

Not ten years, but I would’ve given him what he AGREED to in 2015.
Heads should roll. And the G Rush media mafia needs to be shut out ofLSU Athletics.

No. Very few coaches in history deserve the deal jimbo got..and jimbo isn't on that list.
