If you toss Alabama and Auburn in with Georgia and Florida there's no way that that goes over smoothly.

Why would Bama complain?

That's better than facing LSU, OU, Texas...

UGA and LSU are comparable... OU and Texas are better than UF and Aubie

You realize that UT is one of richest schools in the country with more endowment cash than any public university?

they aren't tapping their endowment (probably can't, legally) to pay for their AD, bro

I was thinking more UGA and FL.

They've gotten such an easy ride lately, but they'd probably still fight to add just one of OU or Texas than getting both Alabama and Auburn.

What sucks is we (SEC fans) are finally going to get these DREAM regular season matchups yet we won't be allowed to fill our stadium to max capacity

Current rumor is OU and UT are the only schools in the Big 12 that want to play.

Total lie. If anything, UT wouldn’t want to play. I can see Ok state, Kansas state, Iowa state, Tech & OU voting yes before UT.

Endowments can be made to athletic programs. Regardless, the point is the University of a Texas has many wealthy donors and athletic department surplus. They can withstand the hit and recover without much difficulty.

My totally unrealistic dream vision:

Create a super conference with 22 teams total: the 14 SEC teams + 8 elite teams from around the country -- Texas, Oklahoma, Clemson, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Michigan, USC, and Oregon.

Create two 11-team bubbles in Atlanta and Houston. Play all the games on the same field (Georgia Dome and NRG). Players take online classes and get free board in local hotels.

Each 11-team bubble plays a 10-game round robin. Play two games every Friday night and three games every Saturday. Leaders of each bubble meet in the New Orleans Superdome for the super-league championship.

OU and Texas would quickly see that they’re no better than middle of the road SEC teams. Neither would get out of conference play with less than 4 L’s
