Personally, No. I love baseball and particularly LSU Baseball.

However, why would you ask such a question ? Isn't the real question - Why can't we produce a competitve basketball team when football and baseball are among the best in the country ?

people who are saying no obviously have no clue of the positive implications that would result from this. It would be exponentially better for LSU. Complete no brainer here.

CWS wouldn't be what it is now without LSU.

Just my personal opinion.

That is probably true.

However, all of these LSU baseball fans are mostly the result of the dominant program, especially in the 90s. If LSU basketball was having that success instead, you would see an huge influx of LSU basketball fans and significantly lower amount of baseball fans, IMO.

no, we get it, but we still wouldn't change it

Its kinda like when people say they wouldn't change the way they've done anything before because it made them who they are

The sad thing to me is that LSU has really the best basketball history in the SEC West, and yet has managed to fade into obscurity since.

The 1990s really put LSU baseball on the map, but basketball was seemingly the better established program before that imo.

If we're going to fade into obscurity in any sport, basketball would be the one I'd pick. No, I wouldn't trade any of our baseball success for basketball. No way no how.

It's a lot like that. Also, even if LSU went out and won 6 titles in 20 years, we STILL wouldn't be the SEC "basketball school". It would still be Kentucky, and we'd be the new money interlopers. and as soon as we had any sort of slide, it would be considered the restoration of the natural order of things.

I think we could become a basketball power, but we'll never be identified as the "basketball school". Hell, people forget how great Oklahoma St's basketball history is (obviously not Duke levels, but it's really good). It's just the way it goes.

LSU has an all-time basketball team that stacks up with anyone's, and we still don't get respect as a basektball school.

We built college baseball. Who else can say they pretty much made a sport popular? Sure, its not at MLB levels, but college baseball is far more popular than it was before LSU starting winning titles.

I'd say no because LSU's run in the 90s did a lot for college baseball. But I also like baseball better.

I agree with that as well as that I find college baseball to have the best environment of college sports and the idea of the student athlete. Basketball is the other end of the spectrum.

No you cannot say this at all. You do remember how we used to support our basketball program which had HALF as much success as what the OP suggested.

We would have been better than duke.

Also, how our top 5 players rank has nothing to do with the overall success and stability of a program.

We may have built baseball, but still no one gives a shite about it.
