That means yes, I'd take it.

But celebrating it as some huge accomplishment, no. 9-10 should be the floor, not the peak.

10 wins means you beat 6 ranked teams including either the #1 or #2 team in the nation.

That's a huge accomplishment from where we were in 16' going 8-4 and losing to Ole Miss and Arkansas in 15'.

Well, it does now. Before the season it meant beating everyone except for those two teams.

We lost to Troy and State last year. There's nowhere to go but up. And Les was fired, in part, for losing to Ole Miss and Arkansas. That means he wasn't meeting expectations. Do you think Orgeron should be held to those same expectations?

Only if our only other loss is against Rice.

I'd take that and be happy. With LSU's schedule, Ohio State may be the only team in the country that could finish better than 10-2.

There are some jackasses that are championship or bust.
Judging by this comment, I take it you're one of the "8-4/9-3/3rd in the West is Fine" MA'ing jackasses with low standards.

Orgeron is in his third year. (Interim season DOES count) Results not Excuses now........

We’ll most likely lose to Georgia, Ms State, Alabama, and TAMU will be a coin flip on thanksgiving.

I guess you somehow missed these two statements...

most just want to start at 10 wins.

That's been the benchmark all along.

Careful when you're calling someone else a jackass. You never know when you're making s jackass out of yourself.

Eta: I also said this in the same post you responded to regarding 10 wins...
quote:

For the man's second full season, that is completely reasonable.

I'm not sure how you came up the with 8-3 or 9-4 nonsense.

9-3 is more feasible

It is now. 10-2 should've been the standard going into this season. From a talent standpoint, the only two teams LSU has any business losing to this season are Bama and UGA. Now they have to play above themselves in at least one of those two games, and win the other games they should win to go 10-2.

You can talk about the schedule or winning on the road in places like the Swamp all you want. If you have good coaching, the more talented team wins the vast majority of the time, regardless of venue.

So 10-2 should be the standard. Then start out recruiting teams like Bama and UGA in order to take the next step. Doesn't look likely now.

Sure. It’d be an improvement but that’s hard to imagine.
