Would you really be upset if the coaches opted to take in a transfer like King?

Keeping in mind that if they do go this route, their confidence in Brennan is likely not as high as those on this board.

Trust the coaches or nah?

They see the players in practice everyday and know what the needs are. If they bring King in, it’s very telling.

It's really just this simple. I would add that Coach O has done an amazing job with the roster and recruiting/evaluating talent is what he's known for. I don't see why any fan wouldn't trust him with making those decisions at this point.

To the OP's question, it would not upset me. To your point, I don't know that it'd be necessarily telling about Brennan. I think it would be more telling about the depth at the position.

To that end, I'd prefer to have someone with experience behind Brennan, or if he's good enough to beat out Brennan, then fine. I just don't think Parrish is really a fit for this offense, though I could be wrong. And the two true freshmen are talented, but they need some time. A transfer would fill in that gap for next year to at least backup Brennan, until the other guys are better prepared to step in when needed.

Wouldn't hurt to have king here. Competition brings out the best.

Looks like we will have some extra spots so I have no issue. At this point the only thing we know about Brennan is that he and McMilan were neck and neck two years ago.

You have to be a fricking idiot to not trust them now.

Either Myles is better than King or King gives us a better chance to win.

They just won a Heisman with a transfer. They’ve earned the benefit of the doubt for years

This thread has the worse case of "We love the backup QB" syndrome.

At this point, Let King go to UGA and watch this board completely change its mind by this time next year.

If it was a guy who had 2 years left, maybe. This guy has 1 year. Wherever he transfers, he’s playing. If you take him in you’re absolutely waving the white flag on Brennan.

That’s why I think there’s way more nuance to all this than just the “oh yeah let him come on” attitude I see on here. It’s not that easy.

Which we will all learn by February.

I also don't get the "The keys to this offense should be handed to Brennan" talk that has been on the rant today.

Because he has great arm talent and has already had a year under Brady? And if you bring in King you’re trading two years of Brennan for one year of him.

The cons far outweigh the pros IMO unless
1) he’s not promised a job and he still comes
2) he doesn’t take the place of another 3-4 year recruit

He's got a big arm. That's cool. That doesn't mean he's primed to be this great talent. You also don't know what Brady has said to King or whether or not he is better suited for a RPO philosophy more than Brennan.

Nevertheless, this is all a guessing game now. But this is blood in the water for the majority of tRant. Can't wait for the 1000+ QB threads during the offseason. It should make this place a cesspool.
