Well, considering I'm originally from Oklahoma, screw Lincoln! It's about time USC John Wilks Booth's his career.

Why do people want Kiffin? What has he done at OM that is worthy? Yeah he wins at home but loses on the road. His defenses have not been good. His decision making sucks at times.

His offenses are great looking but when going against top defenses they get shut down. One TD drive was set up by huge costly penalties against LSU. The LSU offense made his defense look better than they are.

Lane Kiffin is 12-24 all time vs Top 25 teams as a HC.

I agree, but it’s past tense. He was a good program builder. In this transfer portal era his effectiveness has waned for obvious reasons.

Idk man.
This team seems to have MAJOR deficiencies in leadership. First two years that was more obvious on the defense, and now it’s flopped over to the offense.
Brian Kelly (or somebody) did a good job going out and finding balanced players in the transfer portal on the defensive side of the ball that brought both talent and leadership to that side of the ball.
But the offense just looks terrible.
No identity, no heart, no feeling of brotherhood.

Watching offensive lineman consistently get beat on blocks, help the defense bring the ball carrier to the ground behind the line of scrimmage whether it’s rb, wr or qb, and then just looking down at them and instead of helping them up off the ground and taking some accountability for the fact they are part of the reason their brother is in the ground, they turn away sulking with their head hanging low on the field in between plays like a spoiled selfish child.

Watching the qb (#18 at that) pouting on the bench staring off into space while his brothers are out there on defense trying to fight and get the ball back for that qb to have one more chance to steal a W, down by 5 points with a little over 2 min left in the game.
Instead of being on the edge of the sideline watching, cheering and hoping for one more chance with the ball.

These two examples are what I’m talking about.
Tells me a lot about the current state of the locker room.
Tells me a lot about how much brotherhood is really on this team.
And it tells me that there is zero leadership on the offensive side of the ball.
And to me says a lot about the coaching not being able to exhibit or develop leadership which is even worse than not knowing how to call plays on offense or not knowing how to develop talent on the offensive line (which both also seem to be an issue).

Getting closer to the time to test the "after he has left" theory here.

I would have preferred our AD to not have been lazy and political and only be interested in big name coaches.

You think it’s lazy for an AD to go after an experienced established coach? some of you people are insane lol.

The same AD who hired our WBB and Baseball coaches. You think he just got lazy for the football hire? wtf is wrong with you people?

My choice now would be Curt Cignetti from Indiana. Maybe the best coach in the country and LSU could poach

Most times these hires do not work out. Most up and coming hot young coaches fizzle out. This is why we hired BK, who could rebuild the program and provide stability. The program was a mess when he took over and there was no NIL infrastructure in place. All coaches and programs are still learning how to best function in the portal/NIL world and LSU didn’t even have a full roster when he took over.

BK might not ultimately work out here, but he was a good hire on paper and has stabilized the program.

This guy gets it. We couldn’t risk a flashy hire at the time. We needed someone to come in and stabilize the program. Kelly walked into similar situation at ND and brought them back to being a stable program.

Will Kelly win a National Title at LSU? I don’t know that for sure. I am hopeful. The one thing I can certainly say is that when he is done he will hand over a program that is in much better shape than what he inherited.

Riley has never built a program back up. He inherited a good situation at OU and is currently struggle to rebuild USC (which is understandable) I hate Woody. Look at my post history when it comes to Jaba the AD, but he did a good job with this hire.

He is not "up and coming" or young. Cignetti has been a HC longer than Sark has, and he is mid 60s. Indiana has a talent composite in the 70s and the only games Cignetti has lost were to OSU and ND on the road while destroying everyone else

If he can do that with a G5 caliber talent squad, it would be cool to see what he could do with our blue chip talent. Not that its going to happen though, CBK isnt going anywhere with his buyout

But he’s done as good or better than almost anyone on the portal

How do you explain that?

I agree with what others have said.

BK was a great choice to stop the free fall the program was in after 2019. But he just doesn’t seem to be able to get over the hump and get us to a championship.

Every year there is something missing. Usually it’s a coaching staff problem.

But the roster is solid.

This will be an unpopular opinion but, I don’t think there a huge talent deficiency on the O line.

It’s an O line coaching and offensive schematic problem.

Evidenced by the fact that the line was horrible at run blocking last year too despite having 4 NFL players starting.

Sarkisian and Kiffin both failed at USC, yet they're doing pretty well in the SEC

I don't have a problem with the BK HIRE, my issue is with the CONTRACT!

I would've been fine with a contract in the $9m/year for 5/6 yr range. IMHO, no coach without a NC deserves to be paid in the $10m/yr ballpark but that's just me.

Schools need to start getting away from 9 and 10 yr contracts, that's just too long.
