Would you donate if it was exclusively for a new library?

I would, if I knew that's 100% what it was designated for. Middleton is a shite hole and has been for decades, but I don't trust F'King Alexander and the leadership he has in place to actually build a new library, regardless of how much they raise. Rather, I see him doing what he tried to do with Tiger Band several years ago, and take money given for one thing (Tiger Band) and try to funnel it somewhere else (School of Music).

People have a right to do whatever the hell they want with their money. And TAF can and should spend that money on Athletics. They have absolutely no obligation to do anything else with it. For those that don't understand the benefit that a successful Athletics program has on the University as a whole, ask Bama about the upgrades to facilities, admissions, and overall academics since little Nicky got to campus.

All that being said, I'm willing to bet people who never give to academics would be willing to donate to a campaign specifically to replace Middleton. That place is horrendous, and people aren't wrong when they say it needs to be replaced. They are wrong when they say Athletics has any obligation to get involved.

Well I donate to the school anyway but yes if there was a dedicated Middleton replacement drive I would chip in extra for that.

Whatever happens with Middleton, the desks on the 3rd floor need to be preserved because those desks had some of the funniest, politically incorrect shite ever written on them. I used to laugh my arse when I'd go up there to study reading the back and forth stuff people wrote on those desks.

Academics will not get a cent from me until F King is gone. Until I have been reasonably assured that my money won’t be used to fund Marxist propaganda.

The library should be a centerpiece of any university both for its primary purpose and architecturally speaking.

Middleton Library, along with Kirby Smith Hall, are keeping LSU from being a truly beautiful campus.

I donate to both TAF and the University. As do 90% of the other TAF members I know. I donate more to TAF because I feel I can actually see where my money goes and how it benefits our student athletes. Donating to the university has zero transparency. I have no idea what they use my donations for.

Agreed + Lockett. The plan is to tear down all three in the upcoming years

Library will be moved to South Stadium/Forestry and Lockett/Kirby Smith will become green space

No, and I wouldn't donate for a locker room. Not that I have a problem with either, but I donate to charities, mostly St Judes. Maybe if I was wealthy enough to donate more I'd donate to LSU, and if that was the case, sure I'd donate for a library. But all this mess over LSU spending 28 million on a locker room versus spending it elsewhere is misplaced. The LSU football program brings in a lot of money each and every year. One of the key factors of making money (money spent on keeping other sports programs active and other various things at the universities disposal) is winning games and championships. And they way you do this is to attract the best possibly athletes you can. And a state-of-the-art locker room is one way of accomplishing this. This locker room was an investment, and over the long run this investment will factor into bring a lot more that 28 million to the LSU program. But these morons don't look at it in that light, they just see 28 millions and go half cocked and retarded.

The LSU Foundation allows you to direct your giving to a specific college, academic program, etc.

No. During Middleton's renovation, Coates Hall restroom traffic would become unbearable.

Certainly - When the kids call or I receive a letter, I donate to all of those causes. Put in perspective, I do donate more to TAF, Football Season Tickets and the airlines (to fly down for 5-6 games). May be time to re-think that a bit.

I think it’s fair to ask how much money Alexander has cost LSU. How many people don’t donate...how many people stopped financially supporting the school in some way bc of him. It’s gotta be a lot

No. I don’t donate to liberal cesspool breeding grounds.
